Changes for FUNKO

A focus on retro items and nostalgic items. Less of a dump of new stuff.
Sodas were perfect for retro items before it became mostly modern stuff people didn't want.
Sodas also solve the problem of a lack of LE items, just make sodas LE 5k or at least be under 8k

It seems that whenever they make a nostalgic character (even like recent 2000s nostalgia) for cons, it creates the biggest buzz! Versus something for a new movie or show, the hype for those fizzle...
An example of a time when a recent nostalgia created a big buzz was like the Danny Phantom or Fairly Odd Parents 3-pack!

But then like for Hanna Barbera, those are my favorites and always look amazing and I'm sad it's just been through NFTs recently

Stop repeated use of the same molds with superficial variations like diamond or flock finishes and call it new

I think we’re stuck with these. It seems to be a toy industry thing to just constantly reuse your molds. But I’m fine with it if the variant is announced at the same time as the commons, so I don’t buy a common and then prefer the other version. That’s what happened with Wicked so I just bought the glitter Elphaba and Glinda right away.

I think we been seeing a lot of license and more and more LE pops than ever. Not super limited but there are a lot of numbered pops release last year

New license or just adding new pops to there current license? I do miss the truly limited online release or even the 12 days of Christmas. How many here remember the Tony the Tiger Flocked LE 2000 released in 2018?

Having limited productions pieces really made them special. Granted, there are some collectors that simply love certain lines, regardless of the exclusivity. I think the "hunt" was an aspect of collecting that a lot of people enjoy.

I may be in the minority here, but I am a big fan of the 8 bit video game pops, I know we get them now and again but I would love to see more. I also miss the mystery bundle pops, that was a big thing when I started collecting and I loved it.

I hope they go back to individual themed events. The airplane idea was kinda boring.
I would like them to make the horror box again.

I couldn't agree with you more. I really wish that funko would go back to when con pops were only available at the conventions. More glow and metallic pops would be awesome.

Make individual molds more unique by not doing so many variants with tiny different. Different paint job, pose, holding a different object. Sometimes certain characters/outfits get that treatment multiple times over years. I hope they swing for the fences the first time they release a new character instead of releasing a basic common that we all know will get a better treatment later anyway.

Maybe get a social media team and do some fun stuff, instead of just using paid influencers to do an unboxing.
I see other companies doing really creative things with their socials and Funko just seems to be spending their whole marketing budget on convention booths. Bring back lives, do something interactive, make it regular to build hype and give us fans something to look forward to. And I'm not talking about just giving stuff away. I'm talking about actual marketing.

I can't tell you how many pops i've seen at discount stores and off-price retailers that I went... wow... this is a really great looking pop, i would have bought this from the funko shop if I had known it was coming. There just isn't the hype for new releases or any marketing for what's coming out.

I'd love for more Funko brand Tshirts like the POP ones or the one with the skull that said FUNKO on it. Loved those and my old POP one is getting rough and can't really wear it out in public anymore.

As for Pops, I'd really love:
More Doctor Who, especially 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 14th, 15th and the Fugitive Doctor.
Martha, Donna, Bill, Strax, Vadame Vastra and Jenny, Mickey, Jackie, Wilfred, Yasmin and Ruby
Creatures like Ice Warrior, Judoon, Auton, Face of Boe, Ood, Catkind, Pig Slave, Dalek Sec in half human form, Heavenly Host, Siren, Handbots and so many more

Star Trek(NON NFT)- Wesley, Q, Guinan, Ensign Ro, Tasha Yar, Captain Janeway, Seven of Nine from Voyager, Captain Sisko, Quark, Odo, Garak, Jadzia. Characters from Enterprise and Strange New Worlds as well.

Lots more horror
World of Warcraft characters we don't have!
Lots and lots of X-Men characters we don't already have

I am interested to see how Wondercon goes. Walking into Hot Topic yesterday and the lack of Funko in there had me very curious as to how Funko deals with what has to be significantly less sales volume....

I don't think we will get back to that. Would love to see more LEs for sure but have it around 500-1000

Things i’d like to see have been mentioned, exact number pops (particularly on the NFT pops) not just the actual redeemed but the exact number per pop. and just less restocks on exclusives in general, it’s fun to hunt stuff.
