What type of POP collector are you?

I was #1 up until recently, but mostly due to the fact that I had nowhere to display them. Now that my basement is finished, I am in the process of taking EVERYONE out of their boxes. I have no room to keep the boxes and inserts so the recycling facilities near me are getting a workout. I haven't gotten to my really big ticket items yet, like red skull, skeletor freddy, etc so those will be the true test as to how committed to OOB I am.

I'm the second kind. There's just some that are too good to be kept in box and others I can't properly display at the moment.

1) All in boxes and NEVER opened, perhaps even in POP protectors
2) All/most in boxes usually never opened
3) Some in box (probably exclusives) some out of box and on display
4) Pretty much all out of box and on display, boxes for exclusives still kept
5) Boxes are useless, all on display and/or for the kids (or yourself) to play with

Is there a way to add a POLL to this?

I am going to go with number 2. I am an in box collector but do pull some out from time to time to admire. They always go back in though.

For the most part, I am an in box collector. However, the detail work on the Overwatch POPs are too good to keep packaged. That part of my collection is out of box.

For myself I’m both in box and out of box collector. I keep my wonderwoman displayed at work and my cupheads on a shelf at home.

Don't trash your boxes... i am sure there are some in box collectors here that would be interested in the boxes to replace damaged ones they have. Funatics help Funatics!!

For Me im between 1 and 2 i have most of my commons in Soft pop Protectors, All exclusives in Soft Pop Protectors, and All Numbered or Signed Pops in Hard Pop Protectors but ill buy doubles to have some open at the office or house

In my 5 years collecting I use to be strict #1 & #2. In my 3rd year I started taking certain ones out and even buying doubles of certain pieces. So 1 can be displayed in box on shelf and the other can be out to admire and do photo shoots when I'm enjoying a beautifull day. I do take pops out just to see the details I usually wouldn't be able to see in box. So as the years have passed I've been more open to having more and more out of box. So now I'm a #3.

I am #1 all the way. They are cool to look at but don't ever open them. My kids have there own pops and they for the most part are the same way but they have a few exceptions out of box.

#1 except a few that came in totally damaged boxes and we have duplicates of and the 3 we used as wedding props (that are back in their boxes now)! So, about 5 or 6 out of 800+ that we have are OOB.

#5 for me. Everything comes out of the box. Sometimes I use it to gauge if I should keep a pop because If I never get the urge to take it out then that usually means my interest wasn't that high and I trade it for something else. I do a lot of impulse buying.

Director Freddy is the exception. I don't think I'd ever trade him but he's stayed in box because it feels fancy.

I can't remember now if I've replied to this in the past, but I have remained committed to being 100% in box. I like nice neat stacks. I like people being able to look at my collection and see who each character is and where they are from even if they don't know who it is. Sure not every single box I have is in 100% mint condition

But that's me. I really don't care what anyone else does. I think it's silly to be told you're "wrong" if you keep them in box or out.

I am for sure #3. I keep more in boxes than I don't but some just scream "let me out and show me off!" so I listen to them, haha. Really, some of them are so nicely detailed that I feel like I have to take them out of the box as it is sometimes hard to see the details while in them.

For the most part, I’m a #1 but I do buy doubles to display oob in my class so I guess #3. Not going to lie though, space is going to cause more of those to go out of box in display cases rather than staying in a box...except for a few. Half and half I guess

I am also a mix of 1 and 2. Most are in boxes and in protectors, but I have taken some of my Freddy's out and put them in a bat case to see them side by side.

I am between #3 and #4. Usually pops that are still in boxes, I have not yet made a display for them, but will eventually. Some of the higher valued pieces might stay boxed forever.

I have the tendency to buy doubles if I really want to display OOB. Other than that, I lean towards a 1 because I love the boxes and I live in a super dusty/sandy area and it's a good way to keep them in top-notch shape.

I'm pretty much #1, although I am running out of room now in my POP Room because of it. I couldn't even bring myself to open Geoffrey to see if I got the Golden Ticket because I didn't want to break the seal.
