Universal Monsters Pop!s are coming!

I originally was going to return them, but when I got there I just exchanged them for two Frankensteins. The cashier didn't ask me why I was returning them. Or really talk all that much to me. So wasn't a problem. haha

Is it usually a hassle? First time I've ever returned something to hot topic.

Yeah they were all bad at the first hot topic that we got them from, the store had a third, but it looked like the face was scraped and scratched up. Huge shiny spot. Not sure if it would even glow. The one I originally picked out had a huge scratch on the eye, and it went a little bit off the eye, but it wasn't very noticeable unless the light hit it just right. But the black spots on the hair is what made us return them.

Found a better one where the white paint of the hair is slightly off, so the outline of the hair glows. Which I'm really happy with.

That's really good! It's a shame that alot of them have paint issues. I'm an out of the box collector so to me, the paint job is #1 priority. If it's at least decent, than it's all good. The q-tip and acetone trick works real good on some of those scratches. My Superman looks like he had no sign of a black scracth anymore by his eye.

The HT i frequent has real good customer service and the same employees see me all the time so they're always nice to me. The same with another HT i visit often too. It was cause of that store that i got Vampire Spike

I never returned/exchanged any Funko Pops! at HT but i'm glad they were real nice and understanding about it

Before he came out everyone was saying he was like 1 in 6, he'd be easy to find ect. Not having any luck with zero though. Called a hot topic to ask if they had one, they said they did. Got there, and it was a normal one. Another store said they took them out of the box, lined them up to take a photo for their facebook to tell people they had him, and while taking the photo, someone asked for it.

I have a benson from regular show that I'd probably have exchanged if I found anywhere carrying him after I bought him. He has two gumballs glued inside his head, one came off, but the glue is still there, and the other is stuck hiding under the red top.

I figured, knowing me I'd make it look worse trying.
I wanted him, but didn't think I'd find him. Plus I didn't want to add buffy pops to the long list. It seems like plenty of people here are having an easy time finding him, yet I can't for the life of me.

I've had a sticky pop vinyl too, thinking it might have been the hot topic exclusive maleficent...or dark knight batman...thinking it was on one of the black ones. I guess it washed off. Weird.

I need to watch creature, I planned on watching his movies in October. But I went and saw invisible man in theaters, so I started watching his sequels instead. Still disappointed in the lack of invisible man in the line up.

i just finished watching all the films on the Blu-ray set. I have to say the movies get better and better as you go through the collection. I agree about Dracula though, it's pretty dated. He's one of the most iconic characters and i was very surprised how mediocre the movie was. The endings to all these movies were ok but i get it, since they're older movies from a simpler time. My favorites are The Bride of Frankenstein, The Wolf-Man and The Creature from the Black Lagoon.
I kinda wanna see the movie where the Metaluna Mutant is from. I finally got him today and he's look crazy cool. I didn't know he was considered a Universal Monster

He's from a film called This Island Earth. And, yeah, I never really considered him among the Universal Monsters as a kid. They never showed that film whenever they did marathons. Apparently, Universal themselves don't consider it one of their 'essential' Monster movies, either, considering it was left out of the box-set entirely. (Why they included the 1943 Phantom of the Opera over the 1925 version, though, is anyone's guess... If it weren't for the success of Lon Chaney's Phantom, we probably wouldn't have gotten Dracula in 1931!)

I thought it was odd that they had the 1940's Phantom of the Opera instead of the older one in the set, seeing how Lon Chaney's is so iconic, although i actually like the Claude Raines one very much. i wish they would've included the Lon Chaney version as an extra or something.
Maybe they left it out of the set cause they wanted people to start watching chronologically with Dracula?

Or, more than likely, due to biases against Silent Films. They probably don't want people popping in that one first and getting angry because, "UGH, WTH!? There's no TALKING!?" Sigh. Some people will just NOT give Silent cinema a chance. Nosferatu, just to give an example, is a MUCH stronger and imminently more watchable film than the sound Dracula. It's more innovative, scarier and, to my mind, more iconic and startling in its camera work, design, and make-up effects. A true classic. The same can be said for films like The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari and The Man Who Laughs (which sported make-up created by the legendary JACK PIERCE, who designed the Frankenstein, Mummy, Bride of Frankenstein AND Wolf Man make-ups. As an added tid-bit, the film ALSO inspired Bill Finger and Jerry Robinson of BATMAN comics to create THE JOKER!)

Wow, that's pretty impressive that he designed the make-up for all those movies. The monsters look incredible!
And i always heard the inspiration for The Joker was The Man Who Laughs movie. I think that is really cool.
The only silent film i've seen is Metropolis and i loved the design and look of the movie. I don't mind it being silent at all. It's a shame if that's why the 1925 version of Phantom was excluded. It should've at least been an extra.
But it's all good. i still love my movie set cause now i've been introduced to these iconic characters and they absolutely live up to their reputation.
i really want to watch Nosferatu. i think it's on Netflix and i'm really looking forward to watching it.

It's based on this Phantom (Lon Chaney), which is the 1925 Universal version.
