Common Pops that turned into Grails?

Great response. Grail is so subjective. To me, some of my least valuable pops are grails to me. And some of my more pricey ones, I could trade in a flash and not shed a tear...

I have to agree with the Friends Pops. Liked the show so bought the Pops. Now they're worth 50 bucks each.

wait really? I haven't checked because it's just my fav collection and they're an oob display on my shelves. But I scored the entire set for about $40 at wondercon a couple years a back.

I know right. I remember getting Monica on clearance. I even gave a set to my sister in law because she's the biggest fan of the show.

This is crazy to me. I almost didn't buy them all because the guy wouldn't come down to $30 for the set

The ones that I got for retail that went up the most are Unmasked Leia SDCC, Genie, Holographic Darth Vader, and a couple of other ones. I'm glad I started collecting when I did.

I bought him as part of a bundle of Horror Pops on Amazon. Something like 5 Pops for $40. It's really surprising to see what he's worth, now, because like you said a lot of people I talk to have never even heard of the movie.

For me it would be Ygritte from Game of Thrones. Got her from hbo shop for $7.50 using a 20% off code. Now worth $130

Yeah. I bought her, Hodor, and Tywin from the HBO store during a sale. I'm also kind of surprised by how much faster Ygritte jumped in value than Hodor. I always thought Hodor was the more popular character of the two.

If we're talking grail as in solely based on price hike, most recent ones I can think of are Steve and Battle Damage Deku. I still cant believe cant believe how much they've climbed, especially since they were just sitting for a while at the time.

I bought both as soon as they came out, but I can remember them just gathering dust for months at my HT. Especially Steve.

A more recent one would be battle Deku from HT. Was VERY available for a while and was sitting around on shelves for the longest time. Then he suddenly disappeared and the price jumped.

I seriously regret not getting battle deku..I had it in my hands and was walking to checkout when I was like "nah..I just want all might."

Not sure if this counts but the Stranger Things bloody Steve from SDCC..it was a shared exclusive with HT and was pretty easily available at the time and even a while after the show..now its pretty "hot" and selling aftermarket for a bunch of dollhairs..glad I grabbed it when I did! Looking forward to the new Steve's to complete the trifecta!

This definitely counts. At the time that this dropped I don't think I was collecting stranger things but I have a ton of friends that talk about how this turned into a grail out of nowhere all the time. That's super dope that you got to get your hands on it! Keep Steve Safe!

Oh yeah I remember everyone was not into Steve until season 2 came out but I loved that Pop as soon as I saw it and had to have it! Can't wait to get the other Steve pops!

To be fair, Steve was not a common to begin with. It was a con exclusive already.

from the start of my collecting around 5 years ago one of my grails has been Penguin. Even back then it was really difficult to find and has only gotten worse. I got Riddler through pure luck, but still haven't gotten Penguin.
