Not quite all of them. Only what I like or If I preorder Chase Case and will open 1, save 1 and sell rest of the common

Re: Do you buy two of each Pop? One to open and one to save?
Honestly, it depends on the pop. Scary Terry from Rick and morty was the last i did it with. Halloween town Sora i did as well. The "Problem" Is funko is getting REALLY good with details these days, and pops are getting better and better looking, making it hard to keep any behind the plastic screen
Some of the best memories in life, can be made by simply taking a chance. I took a chance with Funko, and it has brought myself and my family fun and smiles for the past five years since.

Amazon has been good to me. When I get damaged Pop's since I am mostly an in box collector I contact them and let them know of the situation. There have been a couple times they let me keep the Pop and send me a free replacement. I have a Mr. Poopy Butt Hole replacement and a couple Assassins Creeds they have replaced.
If Doug Funnie pop ever ends up happening I will defintely get duplicates of that.

I have never seen Amazon itself damage a Pop, they usually do a really good job packing, although there are times... yeah. But they replace it immediately and never ask for a return. But there are companies working under the Amazon umbrella that I can't say the same about, who have sent out Pops totally unprotected and they have gotten damaged and it takes a lot of screaming to get them replaced. Those are few and far between but I have seen them.

Yeah it really is bitter sweet! I ordered a Mr. MeeSeeks last week with a chance to get a Chase. I got it in yesterday and when I saw that the packaging had no protection I already knew it was going to be damaged. I opened it up and it was a Chase! I was extremely happy since it was my first one but the box was a crushed on the bottom and dented. Thankfully it wasn't ripped.
I contacted Amazon and they said keep the pop but also refunded me the money.

Only for a few lines. I usually like buying 2 of game of thrones. One to open and one to keep in box. Dragon ball is the other line I do that with. Other then that it’s all just one pop per

I try not to, which is why I hate when they do the double packs of things. I try not to be that much of a completionist to have to another of one I already have just because it's packaged with another character.

Re: Do you buy two of each Pop? One to open and one to save?
I'm not rich enough to buy two
The only time when I bought two of something was when I bought the Pop, forgot I bought it, and then bought a second copy like an idiot. I guess it turned out ok though because I ended up trading for the proto, so I use the stand from my second Pop to help keep the proto upright.

I buy some doubles with the intention to take one out of box. and then i cant do it cause its so minty fresh in its unopened box. i tried. i really did try to open it. the only ones that i have taken out were because the boxes got damaged during moving.

Personally I'll only buy 2 if I'm customising one of them, which has only happened with The Arrow to make Arsenal, and with Eric Northman; came across him really cheap so bought 4 - all for customs.

Pop Count: ~300; Latest: Spirit Mufasa
Dorbz Count: 70; Latest: Huckleberry Hound 8-pack
Rock Candy's: 24; Latest: Belle
Favourite Pop's: Hades Chase, Pain & Panic, Lord Drakkon
Favourite Dorbz: Alice 4-pack, Green Arrow/Black Canary, Penelope Pitstop
Favourite Rock Candy's: Sirius, Bellatrix, and Jessica Rabbit
Custom Count: 25 Pops, 5 PSH, 48 Dorbz, 17 Misc; Most Recent: Kermit PSH

I have done this on occasion, but only for multiple out of box displays. It gets way too expensive to buy doubles of as much as I already buy

I have to agree with some others too, I will buy multiples if I am planning on customizing something or having someone do a custom for me.

Only a couple rare times. Now have I gotten more to help a friend or use as a trade bait in hopes of getting something in one of the lines I collect that I'm missing. Yes.
Life is full of questions isn't it? Though, naturally I prefer to think of them as Riddles.

I buy doubles of certain ones. One stays at home and the other one makes it way to my desk at work. When I am ready for a new one at work I reward one of my employees with one currently on my desk.

I only end up with two if the first one is destroyed in shipping and I don't bother returning it or I find a second on clearance for a few dollars.

only for certain pieces id say
like gunter from adventure time, i have 1 of them oob and 2 in box cuz i like gunter that much!
but the main reason id buy two boxes is for my protos; im sure tons of people prefer their protos displayed on their own but i just like the look of having the pop & having a proto in the box too.
i can understand why most people don't want to buy double cuz it can be pricey.
the moment i got my freddy scott pilgrim proto, the pop went oob. someday i have to get another one just to complete the look for me

I have on occasion bought doubles of my favorite pops just because one day I may feel like being creative. Then there is the ...doubles I have bought from forgetting I just bought that pop.
So needless to say, I have lost some valuable space and money due to the double buying of some pops.

Oh you are not the only one who forgets and double buys by mistake! I've done that a few times. I've only bought a few doubles on purpose to open and keep inbox.

I don’t have a very large collection, but I do have duplicates. Moving forward, I plan on buying two if I can (e.g., Easy Street Daryl Dixon). I’ve never taken any of my Funko Pops out of the box even though I have dupes for some. Maybe buying 2 or 3 from now on will make me comfortable enough to take one out or the box

I did that only once, when I bought two of the Ghostbuster Stranger Things Pops, put them in the car and then went to another store and bought another two, thinking it was the last two I needed. I was wrong, I got a duplicate. So I took it back to the second store and got the one I actually needed. I don't own a single duplicate Pop. Mostly, I have an online database and an in-phone database that keeps me from buying the same things but I had forgotten to mark which ones I got.

My question today is this:
Do you buy two of each Pop? One to open and enjoy, and one to save mint in the box for collecting purposes?
I've only done this with my Power Rangers line, since its one of my favorites, it can get pricey tho

Usually, (judge me if you will), I get one for the collection and spare to hold onto to forget about and trade later, but only for exclusives that I believe will be trade worthy later on

No judging here. Sometimes trades are the only way to get an item you need.

In my opinion. There are to many releases out there to do this and not enough space. We are well over 1000 and starting to rethink how we collect.

Me being a toy collector since 2011, starting with Bandai power ranger toys. I can honestly say that pop wise? Yes I buy 2. One to open and one to keep mint! It’s just a collector thing. Majority of my toy collection is actual toys. So I’ve always had that mind set where I’m a collector and I need 2.
