Finished this about a month ago. Very happy with how it turned out.

Now this is a nice layout! I wish my walls weren't plaster so I can actually make a shelf lol

Thank you. Took me a while to figure out how I want to do it. Also helped that I sold off like 300 pops.. lol

I have been enjoying looking at everyone's setups.

I have been looking through this board, but does anyone have plans for shelves that can accommodate a lot of Pops in a small space. My current shelving cannot keep up with my collection. I have a space 20'x20' or so and looking for shelf ideas that can accommodate about 3000 pops in that area. I am open to any suggestions :) I was thinking of about front to back shelves that come off the wall and into the center of the room. But if anyone has had any luck
with a design I am eager to speak with them. Thanks in advance!

Just keep in mind too that in addition to trying to come up with creative display options, another alternative is rotating the Pops! on display in your collection. Obviously with that option, not all Pops! (etc.) are on display and readily visible at the same time; but it does allow one to have a dynamic and expanded collection in spite of space restrictions. Like many funatics, I absolutely love collecting, but we all know that people with space limitations (or for whatever reason) have collected Pops!/Funko products and been able to let go of parts of their collections when necessary to raise funds in times of need. So I say even if you can't display all the items in your collection (who can, frankly) keep collecting, store until you get an idea of what you want to do, rotate if you can, and liquidate parts when you need to.

Now with all that having been said, I do have at least one space-optimizing display consideration to offer. Like many of you, my collection only continues to get bigger, and I too have been considering different ways to show pieces of my collection. Below are some follow-up pics for one of my "display rooms":

Image

Image

Although the space is coming along nicely, it's not very big and I've still got a bit of work left before it is completed. One will notice that all my Bestas to the right do not have doors on them...and some of the items in those slots will need to be moved around for optimal display and effect. All of this (of course) can get quite expensive, but the end result (I think) warrants the time, money, frustration, patience that many of us put in. And of course, all this while trying to stay on top of ongoing Pop/Funko offerings...to say the least, we have to pace ourselves and go after what is most important to us at any given time.

The big area of interest (and my suggestion) is on the left part of the room:

Image

Image

Anything at all can function as a "display box". Part of the left wall contains jewelry boxes that I found on sale at Target (the white boxes with Funko Spidermen and Black Widow in them). These actually were kind of expensive (because they came in sets of 3 different boxes, and I only needed one from each set (so that's pretty expensive and inefficient); but them being on sale made it easier for me to swallow; I just found uses for the other boxes that I had left over from the sets. The point is that if you can find something similar and that is relatively inexpensive, even jewelry boxes (or whatever) with big enough slots could serve as Funko Pop! or displays for whatever. I think these look pretty nice. I went ahead with them in part because I felt that if one considers the time/effort/finances/know-how that would be involved in making something similar, I didn't think I would be saving much (if anything). These lay as flush and close to the wall as I could imagine and still feel safe that my Pops! are secure and won't fall off. Even if they did, I have a piece of cushioned furniture underneath anyway. The boxes and the Pops! themselves--even all together--are very light weight; this figures well for the hanging mechanism that I employed (which I think is good because it doesn't involve any hooks/screws/nails/or hammers at all):

Image

Image

Many of you are probably familiar with 3M Command item-hanging products. These are the combo Velcro-sticky applicators that result in minimum (if any) damage to walls at all. Basically what you do is fold the sets of applicators onto themselves, stick one side to the back of whatever box or frame you're hanging, get all of them that you want into place, peel the remaining exposed sides that will be stuck to the wall, hold firmly into place for about 30 seconds, and then you're done. It's that simple. These things work really great (I've used them even inside of display cabinets that I didn't want to damage the wood); and honestly, this is about as easy as it gets to hang something that looks nice, you don't have to measure, and doesn't need a lot of fuss. Depending on the weight of your item, you apply enough sticky applicators to make sure your box/frame/item stays up. Obviously you don't want to try hanging things that are too heavy; but for light to moderate-weight items this product is simply great! You can get them (I would think) from most any hardware store (mine came from Home Depot). They come in a light or dark color--but who cares, as they're going to be hidden behind your item and against the wall anyway. Also, this display option and product is relatively inexpensive.

Hopefully, this suggestion might prove useful to you or others. Other than flush niches, I can't imagine anything more space-conserving than something like this, and I think this would work well for any size room...and even small slots. You could create displays at virtually any height.

Of course, I know that some items might not fit into a "jewelry box", so then you have to get a little versatile and creative. The Venompool arrangement that I have on that wall, for instance, is too big and wide for one of those jewelry box openings; so I simply got an old shadow box I had laying around, painted it black, and put together a Deadpool-Venom/Venompool set-up. Originally (by the way), I was going to hang a bunch of jewelry boxes together in columns rows (I might still do this elsewhere)--but I decided against it here and went with mixing up the display items instead. The bottom line is that these and other pics and suggestions throughout this thread will hopefully help those interested in using what works best for them, and coming up with their own display ideas that they might share with the rest of us. Believe me, we're all looking for new and different creative ways to display these ever-larger growing collections that we feel reflects who we are, our preferences, and experiences.

(Oops--I forgot to post a more close-up pic of the Venompool shadowbox when I 1st posted; here it is now):
Image

For me, this is another part of the real fun of collecting Funko products--figuring out how to display my collection. Cost restrictions are not always bad; they force us to come up with new, creative and innovative, and practical ideas. And then once things are done, sharing and conversing with others about yours and their collections is a wonderful social outlet. I think that was "Carol" (hope I'm right) in the "Making Fun" video that said something to the effect that this hobby "makes me happy". I know that's how I feel. So I keep collecting. I'll figure out the displays eventually.

I hope something in here helps you with your future display considerations, Tonchap...and maybe others too. I think you could get a good number of jewelry box-like depth displays in that 20x20 space you mentioned. At any rate, keep having fun, my friend. Happy collecting everyone!

Your setup looks great! I appreciate the feedback and you make some really good points. Right now with everything on pre-order, plus what I have, I'm looking at WAY to many pops to manage anymore. I did find a set of strong storage shelves from Costco that are metal and have 5 shelves. I found I can fit almost 600 pops on each set of shelves for storage. I'm currently using 6 of these. So I may take your idea and pull out the 500 or so I like the best and leave the rest on the storage shelves. Definite first world problems I know. I have built some custom shelves that fit about 80 pops (in protectors or stacks) in a 3' wide bookcase style displace that is only 6" deep and the shelves come out to allow for POP Rides, etc. I could build a few more of those and that would make for a good compromise.

If anyone is interested I can put those plans on here should anyone like. Them. Thanks!

Wow! Sounds like you have some good ideas and strategies too. You'll have to post pics when you're comfortable. Àt least you'll have options to choose from.

Thanks :)

Thank you. I will take some pictures of the storage shelves too in case anyone is interested. They are normally $90 or so but Costco has them on sale from time to time for $30 if you keep an eye out.

The boxes and the Pops! themselves--even all together--are very light weight; this figures well for the hanging mechanism that I employed (which I think is good because it doesn't involve any hooks/screws/nails/or hammers at all):

Looking good dude! Love the clean & smooth look!!

Your setup is gorgeous!! Like a museum.

Not sure if it's been put quite that way before, but thank you! :)

Hello everyone! First time posting in here. I thought I better do it before I move and have to pack it all up. Putting these all back in the box is going to be terrible. ](*,) Hope you like it!

The ones I kept I think were a good choice. I had the whole WWE set among others but needed to focus the collection. Was getting out of hand. Lol
