Very envious of all the awesome displays here. I’m pretty good at acquiring Funko, not so great at the display aspect! I need a funko decorator! ha

Hi Fawk! I love the setup! I'm thinking of doing something similar and have a couple questions. First, do you have something behind the bottom row to hold up the boxes on the top row or does it balance on it's own where it doesn't move (hopefully that question makes sense)? Second, what are the dimension of the shelves? Thanks in advance!

Glad you like the setup :). I don't use anything to hold up the boxes, they balance slightly against the wall, but some of the deeper POPs come close to being too large. I previously had the boxes sitting upright, one on top of the other, but it allowed for less POPs and I readjusted all of the shelf heights.

Size
43 1/4x10 1/4 "

http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50282182/
Size
74 3/4x10 1/4 "

A few things to note...The 43 inch ones have more holes in the mount pieces, so you can easily find studs in your walls with the predrilled holes.

The 74 inch ones I had to use a drillbit and go through the metal wall mounts to align with studs. It's a pain in the butt, but i had a row of shelves collapse and pulled the anchors out of the wall. No POPs were injured, but it scared the hell out of me.

Lastly, stay away from the tiny 12 inch ones. They never align with the longer shelves, have really weak wall mounts, and the color is slightly different than the 43 and 74 inch ones.

Thanks for all the information! I'm still debating if I should just cut the boards myself or purchase from Ikea... So the money saved can be allocated to more important, ehhmm, "needs." That, and it would give me more flexibility in terms of sizing.

Considering how light Pops are, I'm surprised that a shelf would collapse. Good to hear that no Pops were harmed, LOL.

Thanks again for all the insight!

The shelves have a decent amount of weight to them and the anchors the shelves come with are garbage too :).

Those are the same shelves I am using. Currently have a few 43" with my Pops stacked 3 high. Anchors in the 43" shelves are okay but I made sure to hit studs just to be safe.

The big advantage of the 43 inch shelves are the holes in the mount aren't spaced out much at all. If you ever pick up the 74 inch ones you will notice the holes are spaced out by approximately a foot (cant remember for sure). I just wish I had more room for shelves :D.

I'm sure this has been answered at some point but I have an inquiry. I'm finally getting ready to display my pops but I wanna know where everyone gets their risers from. Or do most of you just build your own?

I build my own because they are so much cheaper and relatively easy to make. But mostly because I have Detolfs, and by making them myself I was able to fit an additional Pop on each level and that extra space is a must!

I look forward to displaying my pops one day. I just need to stop being lazy and actually draw something out and purchase proper matching shelves or cabinets. I would also like to figure out a way to display my Funko posters as well.
