Re: Have you culled your collection?
I'm still going pretty strong but VERY picky.. mostly getting ones signed by voices/actors I love.
Some IPs though I have to keep my collection complete!

Re: Have you culled your collection?
I’ve reduced a bunch of sodas and miscellaneous the last couple years. I’d probably like to sell another 50-100 items, but selling has gone from slow to nonexistent. I’ve still added a few Pop!s here and there, mostly Seattle Mariners related.

Same with getting certain ones signed. There are a couple of VAs and actors that are just hard to catch!

I don't see why not! We've been complaining about lack of space for our collection for years, this seems a natural follow up to that conversation!

That and we need to make space for newer pops!

Exactly! By it's very nature, our collections ebb and flow. I've bought pops that I loved at the time, but have moved on from since. I'd rather they go to a (new) good home where they'll be loved, than sit in a box in my garage.
I'm currently needing to pack up my pop area for some work being down at my place. I think anyone that's ever had to move their collection will sympathize with how much I wish I didn't have quite so many pops right now!

Yeah I've slowed down but makes me appreciate the golden years of 2015-2018 with the Funko Originals being made consistently and cartoons I like being made and LE stuff not being marked up junk behind points systems

at one stage i had nearly 1000 pops in my small rooms and not just common ones but rather expensive ones from the before times. Before pops were as big as they are, But since then i slowly over time culled my collection and as i recently did i culled a good chunk off to the point that all i have now i maby 100 or so.
The pops i kept are ones i gotten signed or ones that were special gifts from friends or special events like FDO or SDCC. I might reduce a little more but now i have a situation where i have sudden wall space so i might start putting art up XD.
I once had a storage unit full of pops. Well over 1000 funko pops. Now it’s less than half. I feel that we all or at least most of us went through the “Funko Fever”

Yep. Always.
Tastes change all the time. As Funko has been doing a lot more anime these days, I haven't been buying as much and just focusing on whittling down what I have. So much stuff undisplayed. Needs to go to new homes.

Yes. What I did is found a few good charities that cater to kids and just donated older items that no longer fit my interests, hobbies, and collection. It helped me focus my collection (which has been great) and it goes to a worthwhile cause.

Re: Have you culled your collection?
Ive moved multiple times. And my last move has taken me 2 times zones over. I still have a lot, but id be lying if I said I didnt want to cut it down to a handful of sentimental ones. Just so many boxes of Pops that I no longer display. They’re just sitting in boxes. And the cost and space it takes up when moving isnt worth the hassle if Im being honest. From downsizing to a smaller place, to losing a lot of the joy of collecting I once had, sharing with close friends that unfortunately no longer collect. I no longer buy multiple POPs for fun. Now, it’s 1 here, 1 there. And Im super picky now that I dont have the space I once had. I dont think I’ll ever really quit. Im just way more selective.

Have about 400 and put about 50 in 2 bins and decided to get rid of them. Slowly will dwindle the collection down to what I most want.

My son and I have a very large collection. He has been slowly selling some off. I'm the one always not wanting him to sell anything. Everything has some type of sentimental value tied in with him and I. I guess that's why I'm always trying to resist the sale of any pops. He recently sold a deathstroke Freddy and a clamshell batman and it broke my heart. Unfortunately I think he's out growing collecting pops. It's been a good run though. We've been collecting pops since 2011.

Re: Have you culled your collection?
I haven't yet, but it's been heavy on my mind. I really only ever bought things I love but even then, we have too many and I have been thinking as soon as I have time, I need to make a stack of let-them-go ones and do something with them. I have to decide if I want to sell them, trade them or donate them to the local comic convention for volunteer swag.
