Have you culled your collection?

Postby RedRoo » Tue Oct 07, 2025 10:18 pm

So as the Subject says have you culled your collection?.

at one stage i had nearly 1000 pops in my small rooms and not just common ones but rather expensive ones from the before times. Before pops were as big as they are, But since then i slowly over time culled my collection and as i recently did i culled a good chunk off to the point that all i have now i maby 100 or so.

The pops i kept are ones i gotten signed or ones that were special gifts from friends or special events like FDO or SDCC. I might reduce a little more but now i have a situation where i have sudden wall space so i might start putting art up XD.

I am in the process of it now. I have over 1400 and want to get that down to around 300 or so. It’s slow going one by one, but I will start doing lots soon to clear out more.

YUP sure have over the last couple of years, went from around 700 pops/set to around just under 400 currently. Harder to cull from this point, I've mostly got pops left that are from around the 2011 - 2017 period...from when I thought Funko had lots of their coolest grails!

When we moved from our condo to our home I had to, I lost all of my beautiful wall space and am now crammed into a dungeon of shame.

I plan on doing it when I move. I don’t have the largest collection, but I definitely plan to get rid of a few to save some space.

I definitely trimmed down. Mostly signed and a few series like adventure time left. A lot of pops in bins haha until I get more space to display them again!

Having a hard time going from less than 300 because a bunch of them are some good grails!

I consider it time to time, sometimes setting ones aside I want to sell, but then I think of the pain of trying to sell them and get lazy and don't. I don't have a lot I want to sell and I'm quickly approaching 900, in a small apartment. I have a feeling that I'll just been packing a bunch up and leaving them in a bin and that will be the last they see the light of day for years, lol. I keep buying more, really have a tough time NOT getting Wolverine or other X-Men or Superman, or specific Marvel or DC I've wanted for a long time, or horror or Doctor Who(both sad and happy they don't make many of these) or World of Warcraft or Star Trek or random ones from my 80s childhood or musicians. I really should stop getting as much as I do but alas...

I think I had around 800 at one point. I mainly only collect Freddies now. We are giving away a bunch of the cheaper ones to trick-or-treaters this year.

I’m a little too lazy to get rid of anything. It has pretty much stopped growing since I have no room. I thought about getting rid of some it’s just too much work.

I've trimmed a bunch from my collection (mostly DC now) and focused more on a line. Now every once in a while I'll pick up a random character that I loved like Flint from Gi Joe. I'm down to about 125 pops now from 300. :freddy3:

Same all around. I love my collection but I’ve had so much of it stored away due to a lack of space. I want to condense some of it but I am also too lazy and don’t want to deal with it.

I cut my collection in half about 6 years ago after moving and deciding, if i can't display it and enjoy it, then i don't need it. The collection has grown a little bit since then, but everything is displayed. I'm almost at the point of having to cut back some pieces if I want to bring more in.

I am in the same boat as Scotty where a recent move has had me starting displays from scratch and realizing what I want dedicated displays for and what holes I have in my collection. Like how I love horror movies but I can't just have random horror stuff that has no cohesion together on a shelf

I'm curently in the process of sorting which Pops I'm keeping and which I'm letting go due to space (want to lower the collection to around 150-200 from 500 that I have left). Decided to focus on 2 main lines (Jurassic Park and Demon Slayer). I'll still pick a couple of pops outside of those 2 licenses but they will be few and far between.

Nope, I am a very picky collector from the beginning so I don't need to.
But I'm strong on keeping complete on my lines.

I've trimmed down a portion two years ago to make room in my home - literal room. It's getting to that point once again and this time I can't really find anything to get rid of, so I think it's time for a bigger home!
