How to protect your Pops!
Hello,
Lots of you will probably love me for posting these but has anyone already got them, or know where i can get them (eBay would be best for me if you have a link)
There is prob' cheaper alternatives. Like buying 'cup cake' boxes and things.
I am trying to find a way to protect our pops yet display them better.
Check; http://fugitivetoys.com/pop-protectors

Re: How to protect your Pops!
Fugitive toys is the only place that I have ever seen the Pop Protectors. I bought a dozen of them for my new Freddy pieces from this year and when I got them I was disappointed. I was thinking they would be hard plastic cases like you see most collectibles in at shows...but they are flimsy plastic boxes that came in a flat envelope and you fold them into a box. This really does not offer much int he way of protection except from dust.
I am still looking for an alternative....if I find anything I will sure share it on the forums.

Although it would hold more than one Pop figure, you could try the protective cases used to display mini football helmets.

Not sure if this link will work. Also wasn't thinking the figures staying in the box. So maybe one case would protect one boxed figure. I will have to try it as I have these cases for my autographed mini helmets.
I hope this picture works. It shows what the boxed Pop would look like in the case. (sorry the picture is fuzzy)

I actually like the pop protector from fugitive because there is nothing else that fits the Pops! perfectly.

Re: How to protect your Pops!
Can someone please post a pic of a pop with one of the protectors on it I can't see what they look like on the fugitive page and I'm interested in getting some. I want to let some of my pops out to breathe but they gather to much dust.

The shadow boxes are excellent. No dust gets in. And they are usually on sale at Michaels. Down fall is that they dont hold many pop (mine fit 13) but its great for all exclusives/chases or other items. I think its a must for flocked pieces

Here is what the Pop protector by Fugitive Toys looks like by itself and with a Pop:

Its these cases.

You can take out the bat holders. They are usually 40% off, and you can find coupons and get them for cheaper. They are usually 59.99, but I have gotten them for about 27 bucks

Thanks, they are exactly what I'm looking for and at such a good price I'd imagine they'd be good for straightening out slightly damaged boxes too

These are awesome Ed. I actually thought you had them custom made. I really really wish boxed POP!s would fit in there

Re: How to protect your Pops!
I buy these cases for my Vinylmation figures from The Container Store, but they can fit a few POPS! in.

Not the best, if you have a lot of POP! figures, but cool for a few showcase ones.

Thanks Calvin for your pics. I've been wondering what a pop protector looked like for a while now. That helped out a lot. Trying to decide how to display my pops and protect them.

Re: How to protect your Pops!
My entire collection is covered in the fugitvetoys pop protectors. I love 'em!

It makes handling the pops a lot easier. I always worry that if I'm rearranging things I might accidentally drop the box or hold it weird and crease it or damage it somehow. These give me peace of mind. Plus they make stacking everything nice and even without crushing the cardboard boxes (my wall fits 15 pops from floor to ceiling)

Re: How to protect your Pops!
All of my Pops! are also in cased in the pop protectors. I made a bulk purchase of 40 protectors one day and have not looked back. Not only do they protect your pops but they also give the boxes extra support for those of you who stack them. I'm a buyer for life when it comes to these highly recommended.

Re: How to protect your Pops!
Fugitive's Pop Protector's are great if you display in box.
Prime Example: See Kevin
I find them most designed to keep water (I suspect...i haven't tried dumping water on one) off, and from any falls that may incur will scratch up and dent the plastic. However, the plastic doesn't seem sturdy enough if the box happened to be crushed (perhaps moving day?) but it would put up a bit of resistance.(Again I haven't tested it)And they also help stacking pops easier.
If you are displaying out of box I would hit up Ikea, or the container store. If you have either of those nearby. Michael's being a nice alternative if you have neither nearby. I found at the container store a basketball display for 15$, whereas michaels sold it for 40 or 50$, even with the 30-50% discount(depending on what coupon/sales are going on) it comes out higher priced. The quality seemed the same to me, however michael's had a stand meant to hold a ball (useless in this case and would probably be removed anyways) and the back was mirrored. Nice touch if you want to be able to see all the figure's backs.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I saw this picture and got one of these bat cases myself from Michael's. Love it and thanks!

Re: How to protect your Pops!
I actually threw a pop across the room to my wife yesterday and completely missed, hit the couch, bounced over and on to the floor. Epic fail
. The box didn't even have as much as a crease. Beyond shipping damage, you really have to try to damage these boxes. I guess the protectors would be handy for shipping or maybe for really expensive pieces, but unless you stomp on these things I don't think they're really necessary. Then again, I'm an OOB collector and just put the boxes behind the pops, obviously since i'm throwing them across rooms

Your Pop boxes must be magical then. LOL
Since they are made with light cardstock/cardboard (whatever) I find that they are easily susceptible to dents and creases. I mean if you open a box end the wrong way in the slightest, the flap will have a dent.

Re: How to protect your Pops!
This thread was really informative, my Pops were in their boxes all in a large cardboard box because I had moved and there was a flood. There was minimal damage to a few boxes of common Pops but after that happened I have been looking for a way to keep my collection safe.
63 Pops! and more on the way!
