I'm just slightly worried since it was for Donald and Goofy, the only two my store didn't get in. Hot Topic is so slow, though. =oP All my other orders have been shipped and will be here Monday. Haha.

I ordered Halloween Goofy, Donald, and Ickis on Thursday that's still processing but I ordered Scrooge on Friday when it restocked that shipped already?

Yeah, mine is still listed as "In Process" despite ordering it on Thursday. One thing that's been mentioned is that system upgrades to their warehouse caused some delays.

I'm on the fence abut getting another release. I want Cuphead to pop up so I can throw in the towel, but Gunn going out of stock THAT quickly has me worried and was most certainly noticed by Funko.

I agree 100%, the short supply limited are what keep pops interesting. Even with going with the "Convention" stickers so they are shared much more kinda removed the excitement of most con pieces these days. I missed on Speedy, it was fast and furious, I was upset I missed him but I love the fact knowing I have a pop on my "new" want list that will be a hunt, not so much "Drive to store, pick through 17 damaged boxes to find the best one" want list

But how does that profit Funko? If there are 2000 people or so that want James Gunn, how does it help them to make 500, and have all of them sell, than make 2000, please everybody, and continue to have happy customers? Funko should try to keep their customers satisfied, not drive them away by locking away everything they want behind a con or a LE number.

Because Funko also has to make their vendors happy and having limited editions drives business through the door of their vendors, which in turn buy more product from Funko. You have to remember that you and I are not Funko's real customers. It's the retail stores that buy from Funko that they really care about.

Because funko knows their probably isnt 2000 James Gunn fans looking for the pop and if there are, thats better for them because it creates hype. Trust me no one can give advice to funko on production runs, we used to collect back when regular pops were hard to find and were valuable, now you can trip into a foodstore and find pops. They have to keep it interesting like random rare regulars, vaulting older pieces, making specific limited con pieces since most con pieces are extremely easy to find now. Over saturation is the easiest way to kill your business model, would you want them to stay relevant longer rather then cashing out?

Captcha actually benefit bots and hurt humans, they can solve them quicker. Funko needs to stop using shopify as a payment platform, otherwise nothing will fix this. This is not new in sneaker world, ANY site that uses shopify is toast for any hype drop, now that more are paying attention outside of toy collectors its only going to get worse. Notice how quick speedy and gunn went?

Imo there either gonna have 2 drops per day with generic shared store exclusives that people have had trouble getting to make up the numbers or...
1 drop a day for the next 3 days.

That makes sense. I didn't think of it that way. Still seems like a waste to me though. I wonder how many customers they end up losing because of unavailable pops sometimes. It does feel kind of pointless to keep collecting when one or two pops in a wave are beyond your reach.

I was able to get some of what I wanted, both online and with help from some friends at NYCC.
It's getting harder and harder to stay current on our favorite series, we are now behind and more than likely will never catch up.

But I am still super happy about what we were able to get!

This year Funko extended an early invitation to Funatics in good standing, so it ended up being quite easy. Same with HQ tickets. It pays to be an active Funatic!

It means people who post because they want to participate rather than just posting to get their post count up. Funko usually attaches a minimum stipulation to their offers, so you have to have a certain minimum number of posts and a certain amount of time as a member here. But they do stipulate that they don't just want people posting mindless junk simply to get their post count up so they can take advantage of those offers.

How high was last year's minimum posts? My brother will be joining the forum soon (bc he wants to join, not for any oppurtunities) and he's afraid that I'll be able to go to fundays but not him

What's funny is that Funko actually did go away from Shopify, but had so many issues that they had to go back to it for these NYCC releases.

I have a feeling Funko will continue to have higher numbered items to weed out flippers, but I'm sure we'll definitely see low edition runs during convention season. I love that I was able to snag some stuff on the Shop, but at the same time part of me wishes all numbered items were actually exclusive to the Con.

I wish they did Gunn and speedy on the weekday. Better chance at trying to get it from work. Completely missed both. How limited do you think the Prickle Rick shirt is. I was able to get one Friday. Sold out fast and you don't see that many on eBay.

I'm not sure what you mean? I was referring to people who buy all the pops for a particularly series not being able to have a complete set because of one or two pops that are randomly turned into near impossible finds. I wasn't talking about people who only collect rare pops.

I highly doubt they would restock. I remember seeing somewhere in IG regarding Nerdette stating that most NYCC pops are gone and won't restock.

What I don't get is what incentive Funko gets out of making small quantities of certain pops so that they're impossible to catch for the average consumer anyway? They don't make any money from them being re-sold at $90 by the few people who can snatch them, and it just annoys customers who don't stand a chance of getting them. Why even go to the trouble of making a mold at all if they're not going to make it available to the people who might want it?

I agree with you on that end. HT was primarily at fault for letting people grab a max of 10 of each pop. There was two guys first in line who basically cleaned up the spot before anyone else had a chance. There was a lot of p*** off people there.

A world without limited editions would be boring as hell.

In my opinion, low stock for some figs or Limited edition is what is making the hunt fun, tough, and rewarding. I do understand that it can be very very annoying for people when it's such in low quantities (compared to the demand) that website crashed because of traffic/sold out in 2 minutes/rush to some stores. But I also feel like this the whole point of the hunt...

I agree, limiting the amount produced isn't an issue to me. For me, it's not limiting the amount that can be purchased by an individual. For example, HT and its flaw in allowing individuals to purchase 10 of each item. Two individuals cleaned up my local HT and there was a lot of p*** off people there.

I ordered Donald and Goofy (amongst a couple other Exclusives) online and I got an email yesterday letting me know that my items were available for pick up (I have them shipped to the store).

Usually my HT online offers are pretty slow. This is the fastest I've ever experienced.

I ordered Donald and Goofy (amongst a couple other Exclusives) online and I got an email yesterday letting me know that my items were available for pick up (I have them shipped to the store).

I think I had mine shipped to store, as well. I'll just keep crossing my fingers! I know I placed an order on the last day of Hot Cash, and it JUST got it Friday. It took a while.

I was told 100 posts when I was at SDCC. That was likely 3rd or 4th hand knowledge, so who knows how accurate that is.

Seems I've missed out on Dengar unless Amazon does a restock. The other two I want, the Black Hole V*I*N*C*E*N*T AND Maximillian, are pretty much pipe dreams. Toy Tokyo will either put them up in the middle of the night and I'll miss them, or put them in a budle with a bunch of stuff I don't want.

Things constantly change and I wouldn't rule out a possibility of requirements changing either. Especially with Funko's popularity, there will be more people signing up on the boards. So just stay active without overly spamming and you'll do fine.

Not just rares but having an inordinate attraction to completism then. While I have plenty of complete sets (at least until Funko decides to release more), there are some sets that I will never, ever complete and I'm entirely fine with that. I just don't care. They will sit on my want list for the rest of my life and never be acquired. Such is life. That's a healthy attitude to take. It's a shame that so many others simply do not have it.
