Free Holographic Freddy Pop for people who voted Funko at the TOTY Awards

Hey so I'm prity sure I voted in something, did funky send a email out to funatics to vote for them? If so I'm prity sure I did something like that.

I don't think they sent out emails. I saw the thread Battastic started and voted from the link.

In the Funko Weekly Roundup emails they had a link to vote. I just looked back at December and there was a link in just about every weekly email.

So my question (which has probably already been answered fifty times so sorry in advance). We know you had to put in your email. How will Funko know who to send these to? Is it a thing where they can track it through the specific link they provided? Are they matching emails from there to ones registered on the forum? Just curious.

The general assumption is that the email you used to sign up to vote, is the email they can contact you with to get your address. When they said Funatics, I think they were generalizing Funko fans, so I don't believe the boards really have anything to do with it. I could be wrong!

Yeah that's my guess as well. The assumption is that the TOTY hosts made the voting lists available to the nominees, maybe to demonstrate the voting was legit? And if so then Funko has an email list of everyone that voted, and presumably they will use that list to contact people for their mailing addresses. We're just guessing though, Funko hasn't explained it yet. Brian said that Yoko and Cam will be giving some more info so hopefully we'll know more soon.

I probably won't get one since I voted for Dorbz, but I'm dying to see what a holo Freddy looks like I'm thinking (like others here said) that it'll be the blue glow vinyl along the lines of the holo SW Pops. Would be cool if it's the sign-holding Freddy version with a sign that says "2017 Toy of the Year" or something like that

That all makes complete sense. And yeah I was thinking literal Funatics as in board members. But it makes way more sense to do it the other way. Now I'm just curious to see how many people voted! LOL, if it were really only Funatics, then it would be a very small list of us just based off of who chimed in, in that other thread. I think I only saw about 20 people or so that said they voted. LE 20 holographic Freddy

I'm not sure if I voted for this or not. I voted Funko pop for something but I'm not sure what awards it was. I didn't get an email confirmation when I voted, I don't think I did. I did it through twitter, I believe.

I understand what Funko is doing is awesome but if they can get the list of who all voted for them, and their personal info, then every company involved theoretically should be able to access that info as well.

While Funko is using this to do reward us other companies would probably see this as a great advertising opportunity and put everyone who voted on some sort of email list or something like that, which I doubt is what the original company wanted at all when they were collecting the votes.

Just my two cents, it's hard to see Funko getting all this precise info because it would set a precedent that every other company would get the same.

I was kind of wondering about this myself. I remember right after they announced this, I went to the TOTY site and looked at their terms & conditions. It made it sound like they were keeping our info private. Maybe I don't understand all of the legal terms and there is a loophole for each company to be able to review the voters that come in... I don't know. But I too got the impression that this went against the site's policy.

Where else would Funko get most of its ideas I'm thinking it's a 60" tall bank/ Wobbler/ Dorbz/ Pop Freddy that glows in the dark and has metallic and 24k gold holographic highlights. I'm going to be really disappointed now if it ends up just being a regular Pop

I think you're fine, the newsletter link just sent you to the TOTY site so it was the same voting process regardless of whether you used the link or went directly to the site. I doubt they were tracking who used the link, and even if they did it would just report back an IP address, not an email address.
