The glowy Pop goodness thread :-)

Emcee, I've noticed that some of the glow Pops respond better to different lighting. I have my bat base lined with UV LEDs and I also have a strip flourescent LED. Some Pops glow better under one or the other even though they're both LED, it's really strange. And some will glow great under UV but barely get charged at all under sunlight or incandescent lighting. The UV LEDs are not cheap, but a fluorescent strip light is less than 20 bucks at Walmart and charges most of them up quite nicely, you might give it a try.

On a sidenote, I finally found a -good enough- deal on a white gamma DD that was listed with a description that didn't make it show up in a standard search. So woohoo, the green and white ones are both on the way I also bought a 2nd bat case on sale, I need to order more LEDs for it but it will double my glow display which is good because I've got a bunch of them waiting for a new home

Sorry if I wasn't clear, but the Walmart black light is a fluorescent tube, not LED. I did a lot of research on LED strips and there are a lot out there that -claim- to be UV but really aren't, they're just purple-colored LEDs. No kidding! Between the Haunted Mansion Pops, Duck Dodgers and Green Goblin it was really a punch to the kidney financially. I don't think we'll see more HM glow Pops, but last year we got the blue glow Catbug for SDCC and the orange one for NYCC, so I'm thinking there may be another color gamma Duck Dodgers for NYCC. But that's just a guess on my part. If there is I hope it's not numbered!

No kidding! Between the Haunted Mansion Pops, Duck Dodgers and Green Goblin it was really a punch to the kidney financially. I'm not going to put as much effort/time into making my things glow as others... (tres). It's not a dealbreaker for me by any means. I am still SUPER thrilled that I got this Green Goblin, having a better glow would have just been the cherry on top.

Had a brief few moments of panic today when I checked the tracking for the green Dodgers only to discover it had supposedly been delivered yesterday, but it wasn't on my porch! I started looking around the house and thankfully it was here, I guess one of the kids grabbed it and brought it inside. Whew! So here are a few pics of the perfect glowy trifecta In natural light, under black light, and with no light:







All 3 are super powerful glowers and all activate really well under UV lighting as well. It just doesn't get any better- great subject, nice colors and excellent glow!

I ordered the LEDs to expand my glow display, I'm out of room! I have to take old Pops out of the case to put new ones in for pics. I was going to add one more bat case but I was looking at the arrangement last night and think I might do two vertically on either side of the doors where I already have the one case (horizontally above the doors). That would triple my space, woohoo! I'll have to build some "shelves" inside the case to display them vertically but it should be worth the effort.

Hey tres, I really have to pay respect to your awesome glow pictures that you post all the time! All of them look magnificent!

That being said, I'm really really sad about how these particular pieces were handled and that I missed out. I always wanted the Blue and Green Duck - unfortunately none of our small retailers here in Germany get either the white or blue Duck and I missed my chance on FPI because I was hunting for other Pops. The green one being a Funko Shop exclusive again was another bummer.

But I'm glad people are getting them and showing the beauty of these pops, just hope we'll get one more glow variant that's available for everyone or at lesst easier to acquire than the SDCC ones. :-(

My new GitD Amethyst quickly charged by my relatively weak black light from Walmart. Not the brightest glow, but definintely a very cool new icy blue color.



And here's my new amazingly bright Green Gamma Duck Dodgers! Really awesome glower... makes me want the other two >_>

Thank you! And yes I completely agree that it's disappointing that some of these are so hard to acquire, especially for those of you who are overseas. But even living here in the US I cringe to think about how much I spent on the blue and white ones. If not for my love of glowy Pops I would have passed for sure. I watched eBay daily and waited patiently for relatively good deals to show up as a buy-it-now and pounced when they did, but they were still pricey. Personally I don't believe in limiting Pops to certain numbers like these, make enough to where an average collector can get them for a reasonable price when they come out. If they go up in value later then fine, but none of us should have to pay 3 figures right out of the gate for an exclusive that cost a few dollars to make.
