Last night I laid in bed regretting how I had past on the Harley Quinn Rock Candy and Vanellope Dorbz Ride, so today I went back to HT in hopes of getting a 2nd chance at them, and lo and behold they were still were. There was only one Harley left, but none of the Vanellope Ridez had sold. Dorbz don't sell well at all around here. Even at 97¢ at GS they still sit unwanted. I didn't like them for a long time, but they are slowly starting to grow on me. I know I said yesterday that I would never pay $30 for a Dorbz Ride, but Vanellope in her kart is just too amazing to pass on. It's only my 3rd Dorb. My other two are Gamora and Iron Man Unmasked. Harley is my first ever Rock Candy. Coolest one they've made so far. BB-8 sold out, so I'm glad I got him yesterday. The other Pop I bought yesterday was SS Batman. The only other SDCC exclusive I plan on buying is Han w/ bowcaster. GS didn't get him or Strange yet. Hopefully soon. The only SDCC items they have left are a couple of Doomsday. B&N still has a table packed full of exclusives. HT has about half of what they had on day 1.

Sigh, it looks like some of us are getting cancellation emails for the Disney Parks Indiana Jones. Got a $10 credit for inconvenience. Hopefully the rest of you were able to get one.

"Thank you for your recent Shop Disney Parks order. We are so sorry to inform you the Indiana Jones POP! Vinyl Figure by Funko is currently sold out. Your credit card will not be charged for the quantity of Indiana Jones POP! Vinyl Figure items ordered.

We anticipate this item being back in stock in September. We will send you an additional email when this item is available in the Shop Disney Parks app."

I was dealing with the same thing all morning but it's working for me now! I just ordered all three and got free shipping.

It came and went while I was trying my luck getting a slot for the Funko booth...got lucky and snagged all 3 at the Entertainment Earth booth though!

I was really regretting not picking up mag the mighty. Went to Hottopic this morning and grabbed the last one and Liv Moore Pop, because I had a felling that I'd regret that later too.

All an all I'm really happy with this years exclusives and the only other pop I wanted the eluded me was the Green Goblin.

Pretty bummed that I missed out on both Indy and Goblin after losing so much sleep for them, and I didn't have a chance of ever seeing Hatbox lol

Still, five outta eight isn't too terrible. I'm sure that Walgreens will eventually restock Gobby at some point, and Dr. Strange was a nice consolation to help ease the pain haha.

Fortunately my list this year was nice and small. Last year I wanted twice as many, and THAT was a nightmare. Ebay became my home for a good month after SDCC. Knowing how impossibility expensive this years Pops will be on the second
market, I'm not even going to attempt this time. Accept defeat and move on lol

I feel like I did pretty good this year. My priorities are always comic book characters and two of my favorite characters and now pops are Grodd and Dr. Strange. I was also able to grab White Deadpool (The OG was a grail of mine forever) and Underwater Batman (Don't have the common BVS one so why not?)

I don't think they actually show any new merchandise at SDCC, only at Toy Fair in the spring. But I could be wrong.

I just figured they would use SDCC as an opportunity to show case their Fall releases and show some up coming items. Other vendors use it to show prototypes (like Sideshow) so I just assumed so did Funko. This year is the first that I have been really looking as my main focus is the Harry Potter line and with them having both a Harry Potter 3-Pack and the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Newt Scamander exclusives, I thought they would announce and preview both a third wave for HP and announce their new line for FBaWTFT.

Is there any other events this year that Funko would would showcase at or are they done?

Funko usually displays all of their release during toy fair. You can google the 2016 catalog, but I'm pretty sure most of the products displayed have been released. On a side note, Funko only shows commons in the catalog, no exclusives.

I thought so but there has recently been a "list" going around that has a ton of new items coming this fall, so I thought maybe the catalog was for the first half of 2016 and that there was going to be a new one for the 2nd half. There is a rumored 3rd wave of Harry Potter releases and also 5-6 Fantastic Beasts Pops that look to be released later this Fall. Neither were in the catalog released at Toy Fare.

I was wondering if it was just a bad batch or a widespread problem. Sounds like the latter! I wonder if it's because of the metallic paint, perhaps they were trying to package them too soon after painting and they weren't cured well enough.

Ok so same here in MA too! I would never have guessed it was a problem till I saw you guys mention it. At $15 I rejected the first two he handed me. I did end up with a really nicely done one. Funny thing is, it was only the faces......

The false god seemed to have quite a few paint flaws on the face.

The GS in my area that was closed due to a power outage is open again, so I went there to get Han w/ bowcaster. The app showed they got it late yesterday, but I waited to check after church today when I would be in the area anyway. When I went there there weren't any sitting out, so I asked one of the employees if they had him. First he said they didn't, but then said that they only had one, but it was being held for someone. He called the other GS to see if they had any, but I already knew they didn't. Despite that, surprisingly he decided to just sell the one they had to me anyway. Yay! My SDCC shopping is complete.

As is $500 wasn't enough for Big Boy, now he has become truly unattainable. There are multiple auctions on eBay that have gone into the thousand dollar range, one even getting up to over $11,000! It looks like I'll never have him now, but honestly, he became out of my range when he was $190! :-({|=

That's the main one I wanted when I went to the Con. But was told they were sold out for the day. And of course i was only there for that day. But there's something fishy going on with those big bids because there are others on Ebay for $200.00

Planning on going to SDCC sometime in 2018/2019

Would anyone here (especially the veterans of pop collecting) be against priority access for people who have been active in this forum for years? I mean the ones with solid cred. Maybe funko should have a database or something of that kind of collector. I feel like this forum has a solid enough community to do this. Building and getting to be a part of this community takes time and effort, Clearly, Flipper tend not to really care about those kind of stuff.

I would like to see this happen, at least give us first access to buying tickets. Probably by the time I get to go, I'll be well respected by then. lol j/k, I won't be, I live on the edge!

But, that's not to say that non-members of this board aren't serious collectors. They probably love Funko just as much as we do, just aren't into discussing it with others. But it does make my heart hurt to think that some were at Fundays just to get stuff to flip. I'd rather have seen that ticket go to a Funatic.

I'm not well versed on Fundays of the past, did it start for just the members of this forum or was it for everyone like it is now? I know it's only gotten bigger every year. It would be interesting to see what the ratio of forum members to non-members at Fundays this year was.

So okay, to sum up my ramblings...yes, I would like to see some sort of system to giving members of this forum priority over the general public.

Interesting read here that's relevant to this thread:

http://www.theverge.com/2016/7/25/12269 ... collection

You can tell the writer of the piece is almost trying to paint flippers/scalpers in a positive or sympathetic light. Unfortunately, "flipping" makes a lot of sense to me as someone with a low income and a desire to collect, but still infuriates me as a collector who just wants that damn Green Goblin already ](*,)

The New system for the Funko booth totally left me not wanting to try again. I waited from about 1130pm the previous night into the morning thurs, I wasn't in the first tent, but I was in a pretty good spot near the beginning of the 2nd tent. Apparently that's wasn't even close to even letting you attempt to get a wristband. All said and done by the time I even managed to make to sails and back down the stairs : / apparently people were just cutting in line from the back of the building anyway
