Great news and very interesting that you haven't figured out which licenses to give this treatment. Hopefully Farscape gets some strong consideration. There are a bunch of people on the rebelscum forums who would be all over a Farscape line. It's just a matter of time before someone resurrects the license...
Will the mystery line be 5POA? If a property does well enough would there ever be a chance of doing vehicles or playsets?

The new line of figures will have 9 points of articulation with better detail and paints, but should still have that good ol' action figure feel.

Hi Reis. Will those additional point of articulation be pin joints like Bif Bang Pow's Flash Gordon line or ball jointed like most modern lines? I'm guessing the additional articulation will be knees and elbows. Would love to see Star Trek revisited with those added points.

Hello Reis! Even though the reaction figures have improved a lot in design with each new release, one thing that keeps standing out to me is how soft the detail is on many of the figures. If you look closely to Kenner's toys, there's actually a lot of detail in the sculpt, it's the paintwork on top of that that creates that simplified/ stylized look. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this, is it a choice in design or a side-effect of 3D printing the figure prototypes for instance? If the latter is the case, will there be ways to improve this on future releases?

Can't go into that right now. All will be revealed soon. But it's doubtful that we'd revisit Star Trek in that style. We'll be sticking to modern licenses.

Initially, we deliberately softened the look on the figures (Goonies, Terminator, etc.) but quickly learned just how much detail got lost in paint and molding, and soon made adjustments and pushed the sculpts further. 2015 has seen some very detailed sculpts that have carried through, and we feel it shows. We've studied vintage Kenner toys like the Warren Commission studied the Zapruder footage, and the last few series we've released, to our eyes, stack up.

Mr. Reis,

That's not exactly what he is saying. There will still be ReAction as we know and love that will cover older licenses from the 70s & 80s and maybe some other time periods but fall into the similar category. I would expect Dark Crystal still falls into this group.
Moving forward there will be an additional line that will feature more modern licenses that will be done in this new format of better sculpts, paint details, and 9 POA.
I would expect properties like the Flash and Arrow lines, as an example, to be done in this new format. Not Flash and Arrow, as they have already stated they have no plans to go back and do figures that were already done in this new format. (Note: I hope they change their mind about properties like Flash and Arrow though

I'm hoping for Game of Thrones in this new format and maybe some of the game licenses they have like Skyrim.
Here's hoping

Hello Mr Reis,
there is some speculation on why funko has Terminator and Esacpe from New York licensed for ReAction, but not for Pop! figures.
Do you have any input or knowledge on why this is?

Reis,
A while back you mentioned that classic BSG and V:The Visitors were on the ReAction long list, possibly for 2016. Since things are being moved around right now are these two licenses still possibilities for ReAction anytime soon?
I know you can't give many details like exact release dates, but can you say if they are still on the long list or now the short list (I hope) or even if they are still in the running for 2016 or beyond?
Thanks!

Hi Reis
As someone who is new to the collecting game I am so happy that this line of figures has been released ( I love the Kenner style packaging)
I have started my collection with Kyle Reese (the oversized fabric Trenchcoat adds a great touch)
Upon admiring the others in the card back I noticed Sarah Connor has an all pink top,but in stores its pink with white stripe. Was this an error or designed that way?
The whole line is surprisingly easy to come by over here in the UK. I am trying to find the T2 T-800 Final Battle damaged(with grenade launcher) and T-1000 Frozen but are not available here at all and eBay prices are nearly 4 times its value. Is there anyway to purchase these directly from yourselves? As knowing I cant complete my collection without them is
frustrating.

Hey Reis I know most people like the more retro lines for ReAction figures, but movies like Terminator and Star Wars have been around forever and used to have the old 3 inch toys
So I'm wondering will we see a ReAction line for The Force Awakens cause I would really love to have a set of those. I used to envy my cousin who had all of his original ones still in the package.

Hi Reis,
With a new direction and focus on 70's and 80's properties being a better direction for the Reaction line has the idea of also expanding those lines been considered? The people who have collected the previous lines would surely continue to support building their collections with more figures from Goonies, Back to the future, karate kid, Predator, Big Trouble in Little china, Scarface ( I mean this should be a whole wave easy), Star Trek, Gremlins etc. I have heard numerous complaints from other collectors who are on the fence when it comes to collecting the Reaction figure line. They say they would be more interested in collecting these lines if they were "more complete with main characters or villains".
With this new focus on the 70's and 80's give classic TV shows a better chance of getting action figure treatment? That's an era of television with many great characters that have rarely been given toys.

No, Dark Crystal is a vintage line, so they will be ReAction and therefore 5 points of articulation with a vintage look and feel.

The licensor for Terminator and Escape from New York simply isn't interested in having their characters represented in Pop form at this time. But we'll keep trying!

I don't know if it's so much "demand" as it is "rarity". The fan base for the D&D cartoon is comparatively small, but fervent, and those figures are exceedingly rare. I would personally kill for a set of those! But sadly, this license (which may not even be available in the first place) just doesn't have enough juice to support an action figure line.

The difference in Sarah Connor's shirt was simply a matter of a last minute change from the licensor after the packaging had been approved and printed.
Unfortunately, we don't have a direct retail outlet here at Funko HQ. Sorry.

I know that some collectors are frustrated with the lines not going deeper, but we've noticed that most secondary characters just don't move off the pegs, so we have to be judicious about which figures get produced.
Also, ReAction was never meant to be a complete across-the-board line of figures. Rather it's a "what-if" snapshot of a time that "could have been" and an homage to a simpler style of toys.

So what are the chances we could ever get a line of "The Warriors" ReAction. I think Mezco owns the rights to the larger figures and i've never seen a 3.75" line. They would def fit the time period to have had figures like that.

Game of Thrones will never be released as ReAction, it's too modern of a license. And no ReAction figures will ever be 9 POA. We're sticking with 5 POA for all ReAction figures.

I know Toy Fair is in about 2 1/2 months and we'll probably get bunches of questions answered at that time but I had a few I'd like to run past you before then.
1. Will you continue to answer questions about the new format line in this thread?
2. Does the new format have a theme name? Like ReAction, Legacy, Pop, etc or will they just be Action Figures that are in the same format?
3. Any more ReAction figures coming out this year or early next year?
4. What ever happened to some of the lines that were previously announced? Have any been cancelled?
Dark Crystal - moved to 2016
A-Team
Aliens (with Alien Queen)
The Big Lebowski
ET
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Horror Chucky figure
The Munsters
More Nightmare Before Christmas
Predator 2
Star Trek - The Next Generation
V is for Vendetta
More Universal Monsters - I know there was a couple solid color/grey scale exclusives from S7 but I was hoping for additional characters.
Thanks

Re: Your ReAction Questions Answered Here!
Hi Reis
Thanks for your response and taking the time to answer questions. If the Limited Edition figures can't be purchased directly and I know Limited Editions are strictly limited.Would a reissue of those figures be put into retail if a survey was done and enough collectors wanted them?
Would the Limited Edition figures ie SDCC,NYCC in future be considered for the UK market aswell as the U.S.?

I doubt it. The whole point of an exclusive is just that; it's exclusive to the event, or if it's shared with a retail outlet then that is agreed upon beforehand. If we released exclusive for NYCC or SDCC and then later reissued them, the entire draw for collectors to exclusives would crumble.

1. Hadn't thought about that. Maybe we can start a new thread that's about action figures in general? Covering Legacy, ReAction and whatnot?
2. No name at this point. And it most likely won't need one.
3. Not this year, but yes, early 2016.
4. I can't comment on any of the previously announced licenses right now. Some are still on the list, some aren't. All will be revealed at Toy Fair.

Mr. Reis,
1)This is a new line, not part of the ReAction Line, that will be 3.75 inch action figures with 9 POA?
2) Will this line be talked about in a new thread?

Re: Your ReAction Questions Answered Here!
Thanks again for your response and clarifying the issue. The problem with these exclusives is the real collectors and anyone outside of the U.S is going to find it difficult to get hold of them unless we're held to ransom by the eBay scalpers. Its tough being a completist.

1. Correct.
2. Possibly. I mentioned earlier that maybe we can make a general "Action Figures" thread that would cover ReAction Legacy and everything else.

As a collector myself, I feel your pain. I truly do!
