POP Shortages
So I spoke with Walgreens manager regarding Walgreens exclusive Unmasked Black Panther and was told Funko has not shipped to Walgreens. I called Funko for clarification and was directed to Amazon to pay Scalper price for a product that Funko advertised. So my question is WTF? Every other store has their exclusives; Hot Topic has Falconband unmasked Iron Man, GameStop have action pose Captain America, Barnes and Noble has Crossbones, so why doesn't Walgreens have product they're suppose to carry and have advertised in news paper flyer?

Maybe the factory hasn't got them state side yet. Funko products get pushed back all the time.

I don't even live near a Walgreens. Closest one to me is about an hour away... Sometimes it's just worth it to me to buy the ones online and save the gas.

Re: POP Shortages
I just received an order of 6 HTF exclusives from PC. There was no padding Inside the box. The shipping box was damaged in transit and all six of the pop boxes are completely crushed. I don't know what their policy is on this but I guess I'm about to find out! I hope they insure their packages.

Be happy that you even have a Walgreens to go to! PC will be your new best friend. Life is so much easier for me now.

All six? That's messed up. I've only ever recieved one POP from PC that came in less than stellar condition, so that's kinda surprising to hear. As for their return policy according to what I've read from others, they'll probably ask you for pictures, then they should offer to send you replacements. They may ask that you "destroy" the damaged products they sent you and take pictures/make a video of it (something about their insurance). No idea what constitutes "destroyed" or how you're expected to go about it but yeah.

Sorry to hear this tres... that being said all it takes in one person who handles the box to have a bad day or make a mistake and all the padding and bubble wrap in the world can't save the package. We all know PC usually delivers. Let us know how they handle this.

I have not. I have at least 10 Walgreens within a 20 minute drive of me. Talked to the managers at 3 of them. They took my name and number. They were supposed to call when the latest marvel set(GG, Task, etc) hit shelves. Not 1 called me. I luckily stumbled across the set including The Chase GG.

So I've never used PC before. It's Australian, how bad is shipping and what's the time frame involved? Amazon has it for $36 which seems excessive but If I'm going to pay as much for shipping from Australia seems like a no win. Has anyone been able to find unmasked Black Panther at their local Walgreens?

The key to buying from PC is to order about 6 pops.... then it works out to roughly $2.50/ pop for shipping.... and they don't have to all be in stock, they'll make multiple shipments to you.... It generally take about 10-14 days to get to me on the East Coast, not sure where your location is.

Re: POP Shortages
I resort to buying from in store or on PC these days mainly because of the Canadian dollar. The Australian dollar is roughly the same right now, so I feel more comfortable buying from there or even an Aussie seller on eBay. I've only placed 5 orders from PC thus far, and I've yet to receive a damaged box (hopefully never will). I'm definitely happy with them. When the Canadian dollar comes back up maybe close to on par with the American dollar, then I'll probably go back to buying from American sites or sellers on eBay.
That being said, American collectors already have an advantage, because you're able to walk in to a Walgreens, Wal Mart, Toys R Us, or B&N and buy exclusives (if and when you find them). Anyone else has to pay ridiculous resale prices, unless community members help out.

Thank you for the advice. I'm on west coast so theoretically I'm closer but I know that's not always a factor in shipping.

You called Funko? Didn't these just start hitting shelves? Just because they haven't received their order doesn't mean they won't in the (near) future. You have to be patient. Or try asking around to see if someone can help you out.

It was not a Funko box time this time, it was a slightly oversized recycled cardboard box. It had a little bit of newspaper stuffed in one end of it.

Thanks for the info! Yeah, it was all six that were damaged. Some more than others, but all of the boxes were crushed to some extent. I've placed many orders with PC before and this is the first time I've had any damage. But this was also the worst packing job ever received from them. But even if the box has been packed better I'm sure it still would have been damaged, the box was smashed to almost half of its normal size. Stuff happens, I'm not going to sweat it as long as they make it right which I'm sure they will. I've already sent them an email with a bunch of photographs, I knew as soon as I saw the box that there was going to be trouble so I actually started taking pictures before I even opened the box. If they ask for that video, I guess I should try to find some commons to put in the boxes before I drive a truck over them so that I at least have some loose exclusives

Thanks! They do have to make a long journey to get here, so the chances of something happening are there. Especially with as many orders as I've placed with them, it's inevitable that sooner or later one of the shipments is going to be damaged I suppose.

I follow Funko Pop Hunters on facebook and I think Walgreens doesn't distribute their exclusives equally. I'm in New York with 3 Walgreens in the area and none of them have any. BUT, when people across the country post pics of their Walgreens, it's this beautiful display of pops on three shelves. One Walgreen had like 4 Green Goblin Chase pops at the same store!
This is why drug stores shouldn't sell pops. They have no idea how the collecting market works.

ALL the Walgreens around here dedicate 3-4 POPs across and about 4-5 deep. Never double stacked. Then I see pictures of other Walgreens with shelves and shelves and shelves of POPs.

I called Funko for clarification on release date, because previous post here didn't answer my availability question, and because info Walgreens manager in my town, contradicted info I was given by Walgreens supervisor during my POP Hunt to bigger cities in Oregon. A Hot Topic employee who collects POP's sent me there because she told me she'd seen it. I Also I prefer hunting POPs in the wild. You can judge quality of paint and see any defects in person. Plus It's more satisfying and I've had much better expirence and luck Hunting in the wild. I've had issues with every POP I've ever ordered online from Amazon, Hot Topic & GameStop. I called a customer service help line for support, that's the point of a customer service help line. Not really sure why I'm justifying myself to you. I didn't do anything wrong.

I'm curious to know what they told you
You didn't do anything wrong but on some level you realize it's going above and beyond & that's why the justification. "Release dates"? What are those? Everyone knows such information is about 50/50 at best...some things get before the alleged release dates and some things well after. The Rancor 3 pack was scheduled for a MAY release and they're all over...
Generally if you see a retailer add some sort of release date to anything Funko it means either they've already received their shipment or it's enroute. Otherwise it's pretty much an estimate and nothing to hold firmly in your head as the date that something will be out in every single store all across the U.S. Only with Funko products do I see this level of impatience and I don't mean to single you out, I mean this in general. People who are into Lego, Hasbro, etc I deal with on a daily basis and I NEVER see this from those collectors, just people who collect pops...it's pretty silly imo...

I finally heard back from them and they are offering replacement boxes for 5 of the 6 Pops (they didn't have one for the 6th- unmasked Iron Man). Since they couldn't replace all 6 they offered a 5.00 discount code. I told them that was fine. I'll probably grab another unmasked Iron Man to have a nice box and just display the one from the crunched box OOB at my office.

Re: POP Shortages
hahahahaha walgreens exclusives. Remember when your walgreens got those in stock? No? Yoko and Cameron have hinted Funko is aware of this issue with Walgreens so not sure where the short end is but to see this thread was no surprise. PC or FP if you are an out of box collector. Otherwise its luck and persistence or scalper prices. So I wish you luck and you see some on the shelves soon
