Buying from Funko Directly?

Postby Funko5ker » Sat Mar 09, 2013 1:47 pm

Wasn't sure where to put this and forgive me if it's a dumb question, but is it possible to buy directly from Funko? For instance if I wanted a rare piece, proto, etc. that I couldn't find anywhere else, could I call them up/e-mail them to see if they had any they would sell to me directly? Wasn't sure if anyone has ever done this or if it's even possible at all.

Buying from Funko Directly?

Postby FunkoNewb » Sat Mar 09, 2013 1:50 pm

I don't think they do that but I've never tried. My assumption would be no. But stranger things have happened.

Yeah, this has always baffled me why we can't just buy directly from them...

I wish. I thought that too but since all roads lead to retailers; I just never tried.

No they only sell to retailers, the last time Brian offered to sell directly to us was the 24" rat Fink bank chrome/back. That was a couple years back.

Your best bet for something rare that you want is Gemini Collectibles...email or call Steve if you don't see what you're looking for, he may have it or be getting it.

Hmm well it seems like you possibly could, because they do give you their number on the bottom of the Pop figures and their address.I was wondering that to.

Sorry dude, but Funko doesn't sell to collectors, just retailers.
But pretty much the only way to get those pieces you are asking to buy is to attend Fun Days or shop Gemini's website.
And you could always buy or trade on the board. Hope that helps you.

Funko itself is NOT a retail outlet and i can tell you from experience that they want you to buy from their retailers, not them.

Use the retailers every year at the booth at Con you will hear Brian himself telling you use the retailers as he offers a few names up where you can buy them

Funko is a WHOLESALER of toys, not a DIRECT RETAILER. They are not equipped or staffed for the consumer market (hey, Brian, please accept my application for VP of Consumer Sales). I recommend Entertainment Earth or Gemini Collectibles.

Funko = Manufacturer (means they MAKE the Funko Toys)

Gemini Collectibles (sells through the internet)
Fugitive Toys (sells through the internet, and at Conventions)
Entertainment Earth (sells through the internet, Exclusives ONLY at Conventions)
Action Figure Xpress (sells through the internet, Exclusives ONLY at Conventions)

----------------------- = Retailer (means they SELL Funko) with Retail Locations

Hot Topic
Toys R Us
Barnes & Noble
K Mart
Wal-Mart
Walgreens
CVS
----------------------- = Chain Retailer (means they SELL some Funko) in most of there Retail Locations
