You know what we need...dioramas.

Postby Jezter » Wed Sep 17, 2025 1:45 pm

I have to admit, I'm kind of surprised Funko hasn't released any dioramas. We have scenes with things like dioramas, but we really do need some generic ones, especially for people who love to take them out of the box for photos.
Not everyone can get outside to take cool photos(like me) so would be great to have some random, generic dioramas that would fit maybe 1-3 average size pops, with of course maybe eventual options for more pops or bigger ones.

Off the top of my head, would love to see some dioramas of things like:

Outside of a building, generic and maybe something specific like the outside of the Funko building and/or the Funko shop.
Front porch/cabin type scene
A street with some lamp posts and sidewalks
Maybe a campfire with some trees
Top of a mountain
Maybe a stream with a bridge
Different rooms like bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, living room etc
Castle
Castle ruins
An alley with trashcans and rats
Maybe a bigger one with two levels like the side of a building or apartment or balcony
Inside of the Tardis! :D
Inside of the X-Mansion/Danger Room
Justice Hall
Hogwarts scenes
Sewer for TMNT or generic sewer

Probably tons of ideas really, what do you guys think? I can't imagine they would be cheap, and they would be tough to find a place to keep them, but man I'd love a few for sure.

You aren't wrong, hence my last sentence, lol. I am sure some people have space for them, I don't, personally, but I'd still love a couple. I've considered buying action figure dioramas over the years, but I'd love one more geared towards Funko or Funko pops more specifically. Yeah, I don't have a clue where they'd go, sure as heck couldn't display them as is, but it was just something I thought about.

I take photos of my pops every week for hashtags for IG and would love something more than just some posterboards as backgrounds. I don't like to go outside where other people can see me taking photos of them, so I was just thinking it would be great if we had a few generic dioramas for people who can't or don't want to go outside. :D

Yeah, I do realize they would have to be pretty big and I'm guessing the vast majority of people aren't collecting to take photos of their pops so probably wouldn't buy them anyway, plus the cost would likely be too high. I already struggle to find places to put my current pops and have absolutely zero room for my comic cover pops, so I get it. I just wish we had something we could use for photographs of pops, I guess I'll just have to resort to ordering already made ones for action figures, because there is no way I have the artistic skill to make any. :D

I think this is a great idea! Space would definitely be a challenge (as it always is), but I think displaying and photographing Pops out of the box are some of the best parts of being a Funko collector :)

Interesting Idea and I could see it going somewhere if they do it right. :freddy3:

I think it is a great idea but as has been mentioned, space, but, it is a great idea.

Thanks for all of the replies!! I agree space would be an issue, even if you didn't want to display them, you'd still have to put them somewhere, under the bed, in a closet, in a bin, and they would have to be pretty big I guess to be really useful. I guess I'll just have to suck it up and buy a generic action figure one someday...maybe. :D

I too have a dream to have a mancave, or as I call it, a nerdcave someday. lol

Right now I'm in a small apartment and thankfully the wife is ok with shelves everywhere.

Keep dreaming, don't give up! I need extra money to renovate our home so maybe I can get that cave sooner than later!

Haha, we shall see! We are moving to a slightly bigger apartment at the end of October and there is a den, but my daughter will be using it as a bedroom. If/when my son moves out in the next couple years my daughter will move into his room and then maybe, just mayyyybe I'll be able to take over the den as a small nerdcave. Until then though, shelves all over. :D

Good luck to you and your future mancave as well!!
