If we're talking about the same "something" (wink wink) then it looked pretty definite that it was from the PotC Disney ride and not the movie. If so then it may have been an accidental peek at the new (post Haunted Mansion) Disney park exclusive/ exclusives that Brian hinted at last December.

That's another I must have, and a big thank you to Funko for making an unlimited version of it too because I don't care about the gun color. This is the first Periscope feed I've watched live and man was it exciting! LOVE this wave!

Hey tres, we are not allowed to discuss said thing here. [-X lol But yeah, I was talking about the same thing. Seems about right that's it's the new Disney Parks Exclusive. :-)

I will need to get the slimer ride for my daughter(s) and maybe the Barbossa, the Walker for my wife for sure. Sadly even in a announcement wave that I don't want any of them for myself...Funko still gets me to buy 2-3 for family members. $$$ goodbye.

Ok correct me if I am wrong but as far as the exclusives at B&N and Hot Topic, the only ones that they won't get are the numbered exclusives right.Just like last year.I was arguing with a guy on eBay that was trying to sell the Green Goblin and Dr.Strange which are Limited Edition not 1000pc L.E. for 300 bucks each.I said really dude? You do realize that these will be at either B&N or H.T. for 15 bucks right. He says no you can only get these at SDCC.They are limited numbers.I told him I have got all my exclusives from those stores every year and he claims that's impossible. The sad thing is there are auctions on there for this stuff and people are actually bidding over 100 bucks on them.

What disturbs me is that people have some way of "knowing" they are getting some. And also, best not to believe a guy trying to flip product that's not even out yet on Ebay. A dude like that will say anything to sell a 15$ figure for 300$. Ask him if his daughter needs an operation, too. [-(

Yeah I've seen a couple websites selling the Dr. Strange and others that aren't numbered limited editions for up to $50 or $60. Not to say that there won't be some that are sold in stores that end up being that much but you're right...a lot of these should be available at HT, B&N, and other places. I'm hoping FYE gets in the SDCC game this year.

Ask for boxes after you make your purchases. I believe they have boxes that hold 6 POPs and that's what I did last year. I didn't quite have enough room in all my bags so I decided to carry 2 POPs in my backpack and hope for minimal damage. One of those happened to be the 12th Doctor in the spacesuit and of course now he's got warped plastic and a dent in the corner ](*,)

Another idea would be to bring a bunch of soft protectors with you. That way you'll avoid broken corners and windows. :-)

Ahhh, Cursed Barbossa. I had a feeling he was coming, but I'm still overjoyed looking at that glam. Even MORE overjoyed that he and the Flaming Walker will apparently be sold in a B&M store during that infamous weekend. Duck Dodgers, Hatbox Ghost, I love you, but considering your tragic limitedness, you have been replaced.

Any suggestions for where to purchase those? Any protectors collectors swear by? This will be my first time bringing a lot back. I used to live in Phoenix and drove back.

Barbossa and the Flaming walker are cool, but I don't need them.

So far I just "need" False God Superman and Doctor Strange.

I am digging the Marcus POP!s, and the Barbossa is nice, if they are store exclusives they may be hard to pass on, but nothing I need chase after.

I personally use the Ultimate Guard protective cases. I don't really know where to find them in the US but they are really cheap and even if they won't save your Pop when it's falling down from a cliff, they are still pretty reliable against dented corners.

There's also Ivegotprotection who have protectors for Dorbz and 6" Pops.

I think so. I remember there were a few that were not available anywhere else during the con or immediately after (grinning Ultron and cheesy Skipper?) but then showed up later at WM and Target with "Summer Exclusive" stickers.

We won't know where any of these will be available until right before the con, so there is NO WAY he could know that. Ebay didn't use to allow presales, I think it was a sad day indeed when they changed their policy on that. Now people like this guy can basically roll the dice and sell you something that they don't have on the hopes that they MIGHT get it later, and if they don't they can simply refund your money. All that is completely allowed under eBay's rules, and that is very unfortunate. People should not be allowed to sell items on eBay that they don't already have.

RoboFist wrote:Duck Dodgers, Hatbox Ghost, I love you, but considering your tragic limitedness, you have been replaced.

Tragic limitedness lol lol lol Exactly. This wave redeemed by disappointment over the tragic limitedness of what I wanted in the previous waves :-)

r2d2 wrote:Excuse the ignorance but, why did they announced Toy Tokyo exclusives with this? Are they going to be available in other retailers like other con exclusives maybe?

If last year is any indication then no, they will only be available at TT's booth, and -maybe- on their site afterwards. Last year they PO'd a lot of people by offering the SDCC exclusive Pops on their site -only- as a total package deal with ALL their Hikari and Reaction exclusives as well.

alex_dewitt wrote:Hey tres, we are not allowed to discuss said thing here. [-X lol But yeah, I was talking about the same thing. Seems about right that's it's the new Disney Parks Exclusive. :-)

TT doesn't usually have a booth at SDCC, so they sell their exclusives at the Funko booth

Thanks for the clarification

Is that walker based off a certain episode of TWD? If so, just state the season/episode number to avoid spoilers :)

If I remember correctly it's based off one of the most recent 1/36 Mystery Minis which again is based off the designer of said Mystery Minis.

Around the side of the booth I take their leftover flattened cardboard boxes. Inners hold 6 POPs, and the master cases hold 6 inners (so total 36). So yeah I usually have no trouble filling up the inners for the master case. Then I decide whether I want to mail the master case back to myself or use it as check in. The price is about the same. As a check in it comes in faster because it obviously flies with you, but I think bag handlers for airline carriers don't treat the box so well. Plus you gotta deal with an extra check in bag/box. Mailing it is easier, but it gets to you a couple days later. However, if you use a GOOD carrier like UPS, I noticed they take much better care of a large retail like shipping box vs airline carriers (and USPS).

I did the above for both NYCC and SDCC to SEA. I shipped via UPS from SD to SEA using UPS and everything came back perfect, but cost around $80 (insurance included). I paid $50 for extra check in from NYCC to SEA using my airline. POP boxes that were at the edges of the master case received minor damage (I anticpated this and put my least loved POPs in those areas).

For those that have resorted to that have you found a magic tip amount that seems to work?

1000 piece runs, they will only have 250 per day so they have some for all 4 days of the con. HOWEVER, that number is probably smaller because they may send limited quantities to other vendors like Gemini or whatever. Expect ALL exclusives to sell out within the first 2 hours....more like the first hour, honestly. After what I went through at ECCC, my advice would be to run to the booth faster than you ever have in your life....and even then, it probably won't be fast enough.

Actually they have even less per day than that, because they are available on Preview Night as well. So make that 200 per day at best.

Hahahaha and the news just keeps getting better and better...

If I do get any POP's this year I plan on doing this...probably do the check in thing since I'm planning on packing light and I get 2 free check-ins.

SDCC does not allow running! And, unless you are in great shape it is a long run from the main entrance of the Convention Center to the Funko Booth. They will have "guards" stationed along the way to keep you from running. It all comes down to where you are in line from the night before. And remember, with the new RFID system, it is going to be even slower to get in. Get in line early the night before!

The Barbossa looks amazing, the best item they've revealed so far. The only item from wave 4 that I'm interested in. It's not a must have, no item has been yet, but I will get him if I can find him.

Or spoiler tag with a description of where it was.

Yeah they were in the season 5 premier.

Like Alex said, the mini was based on Reis, sort of a tongue-in-cheek self portrait. Not sure if he designed this one as well.
Howdy, I'm Tres :-)

That red ecto-1 looks awesome with the inverted coloring! Flame walker and Barbosa look insane as well. So 3 pieces I love and we still have like 5 waves left = have a feeling it's gonna be an expensive summer lol

I need that flame Walker for my TWD set and probably cursed Barbosa too.
