Now that I've got my preorder for Gambit in, I looked more closely at the pop - you're right, the details on this are amazing! Just what they did with his cards alone would've made this pop worth it, but for it also to be GITD? Can't wait for these!

I love how they did his powers, how you can still see the cards through them, and of course the glow is an awesome bonus!

Now we need a release date for flying Rogue so I can be ready! I've been a bit absent minded lately about when certain pops drop and I want to put it in my phone's calendar to remind me this time

Yep, keeping my eyes out for that date announcement! I am all about that flying Rogue, I'd make do with the regular one if I had to, but I wouldn't be nearly as happy with it! I wonder if it will drop closer to the release date for Gambit?

Ugh. I have friends that collected way earlier than me. I get that their fans of the simple molds but you can’t deny that they did justice with these new ones. So much love put into it

The details on the pops just get better and better as we go! I'm glad they've gotten to this point, where we have so many beautifully done figures!

I'm not sure. I already preordered the regular Rogue from GS. I'll be getting both. She's always been my fav out of all of the X-Men

The good thing about HT is that they show up in stores weeks before release sometimes and people usually post the dates! We got in our Birds of Prey Pops almost a month before they could hit shelves lol I'm excited for flying Rogue too though!

I always keep my eye on the HT instagram. I have also found that they start appearing in the east before moving west. It's a good indicator of when to be ready....unless you live in the east I guess :)

Yeah, watch the main HT insta and if your local store has one it's good to follow them too! They'll for sure post the night before of a big release. The Pop itself will probably show up for preorder online a week before it hits stores anyway. That's something they've done for the last few exclusives (which sucks for the stores a little because then why would anyone come in and drive up our sales! But I digress...)

Yeah, I'm totally digging and appreciated the intricate details in the newer moulds, but can still see why simplicity of the OG moulds are endearing.

i get the appeal of the original molds. I love them a lot when it comes to super heroes. It just limit themselves a lot to properties that don't have distinguishing features. TV shows pops are probably the worse offenders. If they stuck with the old style it would truly be same face same body all the way thru. But now that we have been spoiled its hard to go back hah

I especially love the use of colored opaque shards to show energy, thinking the Cap America with broken shield and Mjolbir and 6inch Broly.

Yes, exactly! I end up tempted by so many pops I never thought I would go for. TBH, Gamit is a prime example of that. I initially thought he'd be cool, and that he'd be nice to have to go along with Rogue, but I probably wouldn't buy him. But seeing what they did with him, I didn't even hesitate. Curse these pops that are amazing and suck me in! (Not really though!)

That's a fabulous thought...I shall have to start making inquiries at my HT so they know I'm waiting for it. They're usually super helpful, so that makes me feel a little better about my changes getting this pop!

This is the truth most people don't want to hear. I stray more towards anime or lines with costumes/weapons because they're very distinguishable. A movie line or TV series with very bland cast does not translate well into pops. Only thing that saves them is their box. Take them out they can be anybody. I'm very thankful for funko being more detailed with just something as simple as hair. It really makes the pop "pop"

Also helps that anime characters usually have the craziest hair (looking at All Might). Hard to imagine anyone mistaking All Might for another character.

GITD Gambit & Flying Rogue? REALLY happy today! It's about time....! \:D/

I totally missed the flying Rogue in the initial announcement! That is a must have as well. Am I crazy or did I see that's going to be a Hot Topic exclusive?

That flying Rogue is on point. Can't wait to add that to my collection.

It is pretty great. I don't mind 10 iterations of Wolverine, but can we get some other long missing X-Men characters? Or even X-Force? Possibly the New Mutants....

That would be cool. I’ve noticed that not a lot of people have been asking for her.

i get the appeal of the original molds. I love them a lot when it comes to super heroes. It just limit themselves a lot to properties that don't have distinguishing features. TV shows pops are probably the worse offenders. If they stuck with the old style it would truly be same face same body all the way thru. But now that we have been spoiled its hard to go back hah

Exactly this! There are so many pops that if they weren't in a box identifying them, I wouldn't know what they are. But something distinctive, with a great paint job - I'm there! :mir1:

This is the truth most people don't want to hear. I stray more towards anime or lines with costumes/weapons because they're very distinguishable. A movie line or TV series with very bland cast does not translate well into pops. Only thing that saves them is their box. Take them out they can be anybody. I'm very thankful for funko being more detailed with just something as simple as hair. It really makes the pop "pop"

As I have more and more pops to find space for, I find that I'm tending toward more distinctive pops. There has to be something special about it, whether it's a distinct pose, something the character is holding, etc. But as we all know - there's something for everyone with Funko. As long as we're all happy at the end of the day, we're good!

18 inch too.... now all collectors will have space problems

At least a 10" (or 18") sentinel would make perfect sense. And would also make for a truly awesome display at some point!

totally agree.. that is why i got a little disappointed on their release of galactus...

Never give up hope! Just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't happen ever! And I'm sure you're not alone in wanting it!

I can't really speak to the crazy except in this particular instance.... lol ...but yes, she's supposed to be a HT exclusive!

While I don't personally desperately need Jubilee, I'm also all for everyone getting the X-men they need. So yes, please, Jubilee!

Same. It's to the point where now I see certain pops that are so detailed and well done that I want to buy them even though I'm not even a fan of that particular show/game/series/brand/etc

I feel you. I really have to be strict because the molds are getting too nice to ignore. But i'm running out of space so its helping me limit myself haha

I have to be more strict now too. I actually had to put a lot of my pops in storage sadly because my leasing office considered them to be "clutter"

(Not really though!)

lol I know what you mean! Curse them for making us spend more money and try to find more room but st the same time don't stop making them!!

Gambit does look amazing. I always thought he'd look cool as a pop but they outdid themselves with his power

Yep, keeping my eyes out for that date announcement! I am all about that flying Rogue, I'd make do with the regular one if I had to, but I wouldn't be nearly as happy with it! I wonder if it will drop closer to the release date for Gambit?

I'm not sure. I already preordered the regular Rogue from GS. I'll be getting both. She's always been my fav out of all of the X-Men

Me too! Honestly, I'll probably end up buying both of her as well. Did the GS preorder have a street date?

They told me...and I honestly forgot already. #-o I got dates on 3 different pops and they're all jumbled now. One of the pops I asked about is coming out really soon, like February soon. I tried checking the GS app but it's been weird and not wanting to tell me my preorders lately
