Free Holographic Freddy Pop for people who voted Funko at the TOTY Awards

Yeah, I wasn't sure if they would go in that direction, or a clear vinyl with holographic foil pieces mixed in, or full on holographic foils like ones that are apparently for wine labels (but I'm pretty sure I've NEVER seen used for wine labels because I guess nobody wants hologram snowflakes on their Chardonnay :-/

). So many possibilities! So much excite!

I'm more interested in what mold it'll be in. Will it bet the standard Freddy with the TOTY sign?????? Or (please) will it be like the Tux Freddy from Fundays??????

I'm with you on that one, haha (though you have even more reason to keep it special!). I like that they made that version of him as a Pop for Fundays. Though I guess it was technically for awards and TOTY is an award so there actually is a link.

The sign version just seems more likely though because it seems like that's used for so many things. And honestly, no matter what mold it is, having a special holographic version of it is going to look super sweet and fancy!

They seem to be clinging to the hope that at some point Funko is going to say "OK everyone, if you voted then send us your info and we'll send you free stuff!" I doubt that's the way this will work. The people that voted had to provide an email address, it was mandatory. Funko will no doubt contact the people at the email addresses they used for voting and ask them for their mailing info. If you didn't vote or accidentally typed in your email address wrong while voting, then you'll never get the email from Funko and will not have an opportunity to get the gift. The one thing Funko wasn't clear on is if you had to vote for Pops. A lot of us voted for Dorbz and it's unclear if Funko is sending us the gift too. The did say the gift was for those who "voted for Funko" so the door is at least open to Dorbz voters too.

Brian mentions "Funatics" several times in the clip and says he wants to "reward all the fans" with this gift, so it seems pretty clear it's at a minimum for "regular people", not sure about panelists but I would guess so.

Brian also mentioned more info would be coming from Yoko and Cameron so hopefully they'll answer some of our questions soon.

I know I didn't vote, since I couldn't figure out how to. lmao. I may have visited too late in the game when voting was over. I'm holding a small hope that we may all get one, but I'm not holding my breath, and I know it would probably make a bunch of people mad. It's awesome that Funko is doing this, and hopefully they don't all go on eBay at the same time. I look forward to pictures, though! So don't forget to post when the time comes.

There were votes from regular ol' people and votes from industry experts. The experts' votes were actually weighted heavier, so individually they had a bigger impact on the selection.

On November 21, 2016, the TOTY finalists were unveiled via a press release and the launch of this website, ToyAwards.org, where consumers are invited to vote for their favorite toys during the holiday season.

CATEGORY VOTING
Five weighted ballots – one each for consumers (25%), mass and specialty retailers (40% combined), journalists and bloggers (20%), and members of the Toy Industry Association (15%) – were open from November 21, 2016 through January 15, 2017. Winners will be announced during a formal presentation ceremony on February 17, 2017.

PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD
The winner in this category was determined exclusively by votes received on the ToyAwards.org website.

TOY OF THE YEAR AWARD
Input from mass retailers, specialty retailers, media, and TIA members will be weighted and used to determine the overall “Toy of the Year” award.

I flip out when Taco Bell gives away free tacos. I posted on Instagram when I won a free bagel from the grocery store. A Freddy Pop is better than a taco and bagel combined, so you can bet your butt I'm losing my mind over this :roflmao:

I think they posted it in facebook as well - i know that's how i voted. no confirmation email from Toy Association though - the confirmation page just asks to share it in social media (Fb, Twitter)
