Just as an FYI, I got my shipping conformation at 7am (PST) this morning. So check your emails! :freddy2:

Also, curious: for those that got their orders canceled - how many did you order?

Have the past exclusives been a mainstay at the parks or they only around for so long?

the Haunted Mansion Ghosts were the only other exclusives so far. From my understanding, they were released late last year, then received a small restock a few months later.

The most recent ones are an alternate colorway from SDCC 2016 only. Other than that, there hasn't been anything for easily 6+ months.

When I was in D-Street getting mine and the giveaway one, the attendant did mention it's an "Open Edition" so they will restock eventually, but it's still going to be rare if they only restock once a year or so. Also, when you think about them wanting to do other iconic characters, who knows how they plan on restocking all of them :(

the Haunted Mansion Ghosts were neat but did not get my attention. If they do a Figment I will need to get it. I wish I had paid attention to Indy being up so I might have had a chance. between sdcc and our cat being seriously ill (worried sick about him) I didn't notice

The two Indy versions are different, not just alternate colorways. One is from Raiders of the Lost Ark and the other Temple of Doom. One with whip, one with sword.

I placed two separate orders through the app. One fairly early and the other an hour and a half later. I got a cancellation email that the later order had been cancelled but nothing regarding the first order. When I check the order history on the app, I can see the later order was cancelled but the earlier order still says Processing.

My order is still there. I haven't received any cancellation yet. The status for my order just has a letter M. No idea what that means.

Ok, So I just sent them a very lengthy email with suggestions for combating the resellers and giving everyone a better shot at actually being able to order it because they said our orders couldn't be pre-orders. Let me know if any of you disagree with any of these ideas because to me they seem like the best ways to make sure resellers don't get all of them.

"As a person who has worked retail for the last few years, including at stores that also had exclusive collectible things, here are a few of the techniques we used to prevent these kinds of situations, as well as some general suggestions:

1) Hard limit of 1 super limited edition item per household. Now considering the nature of the theme parks and toys, I'd maybe do a hard limit of 2, per person. No more then 2.

2) For in park guests find a way to track whether they have already purchased the max of the item via their park admission. Since I'm sure the vast majority of in park guests were using their Annual Passes to get the discount, put a digital marker on their account that will attach itself to their account so that they are unable to purchase more.

3) Hand out a wristband or voucher for new LE items to those in line, the voucher is goo for 2 per household and nobody will get a second wristband/voucher.

4) Do not hand out more vouchers then 1/2 of the available quantity in case everybody buys 2, that way nobody gets to the front of the line to find you already sold out.

5) For app orders, limit the item to 2 per address/acct. Keep heavy watch on the addresses and the accounts, don't let 2+ people shipping to the same address order 2 each, that is a very easy way to tell if the purchaser intends to resell.

6) Don't offer the same AP discount as normal for limited items with high demand, if the discount is normally 10%, give them 5%, if the discount is normally 20%, give them 10%.

7) Expand the app's availability to other phones and tablets, for instance I cannot download the app on my android tablet, nor my windows phone so I had to use someone else's phone just t place my order.

8) Considering the popularity of this item, set aside at least 30% of the quantity that you receive in the next resupply for App customers, and have that quantity not available to sell in person in park until after orders have been received.

9) If you will launch the item at midnight PST again, have some people working graveyard to fulfill the orders before the parks open for the day.

10) Expand availability by also setting aside a quantity for the Merchandise Guest Services phone system.

11) Expand payment options for the APP to match what you can use over the phone, I have placed many, many orders over the last 6 years with you and have been able to use my Disney gift cards on those purchases, allow us to use gift cards on the app.

12) Instead of making us contact you right away for our $10 code, give us unique codes that expire after use to use on the app, or allow us to call to place the order in the first place.

13) Order larger quantities on all future park exclusive figures. I don't know what the quantities were for Haunted Mansion or Indy but look at what they are being re-sold for on ebay, it is ridiculous. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R4 ... s&_sacat=0

14) Don't announce all of these policy ideas if enacted until 24 hours before the next restock so that the reselling community doesn't get the opportunity to plan around it.

15) Consider sharing these with the Disney Store so that your hundreds (if not thousands) of out of state collectors have a chance to pick them up in person as well.

16) Please consider giving us the announcement of a new Parks exclusive Pop figure more than a week in advance, for all of us that are out of the area we can't just show up to Disney Parks to purchase it.

I used to work at lego and we had highly sought after gift with purchase items, and we had a strict limit of 1 per family, we knew that siblings would each want their own but we kept to the limit so that we could make sure that it went home to as many homes as possible.

Trust me when I say this was easily the most poorly handled situation I've ever experienced from Disney, the company known for making magic happen for its guests."

I don't disagree with the presented ideas, I just don't see the advantage for the retailer to put in all that work. Maybe you save yourself complaints from disappointed customers, but you're putting in time (which equals money) to come up with this plan. Realistically, don't all retailers want to move their products and to move them quickly? It seems to me like most companies could care less if 5 people bought all 50 or if 50 people bought 50.

True. Good will aside, its probably more practical for them to ship more pieces to less accounts.

Same here. I got my shipping email late last night. I ordered one through the regular Disney Store app at around 8am EST Friday morning. I was up earlier than that for work and tried to order him many times prior to 8am, but that's when I was finally able to get it to go through error free. Very surprised to get the shipping email last night.

I'll be heading back to Disneyland in a couple of weeks. I doubt it'll actually lead to anything, but if they restock, they wouldn't sell it at the world of Disney store, right? Is it at that Disney Club shop down in downtown disney?

They're getting more in September. Customer Service Rep at Disney said as far as they know it's the same Temple of Doom figure.

Does anyone know if Disney World would get these in? I got a friend headed there in September and not sure where to tell him to look.

Actually, not to be that guy. But the SDCC Indiana Jones & Disney Parks version are based on the Temple of the Forbidden Eye (I.e A mix of all of the movies, but I don't think Disney ever had the license for the movie titles - just the character).

On a cooler note, here are both of them.

UMMM no, theyare directly inspired by Raiders (SDCC) and Temple of Doom (Parks), and here is your proof, direct from the announcement on the Disney Parks Blog:

The packaging for this figure includes a nod to the Indiana Jones Adventure attraction in Adventureland at Disneyland park (don’t look into the eyes of Mara!). For this article, I visited the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to grab a few photos of Indiana Jones in action.

Indiana Jones Funko Pop! Figure Coming to Disney Parks on July 22, 2016

This Indiana Jones figure is different than one being released at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2016. The Comic-Con figure (#199) was inspired by “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” whereas the Disney Parks figure (#200) was inspired by “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.”

On top of that, neither the idol, nor the stone are ever seen or referenced in the Temple of the Forbidden Eye attraction at Disneyland (neither are the Holy Grail nor the Crystal Skull). Plus nowhere in the ride is he ever missing a sleeve and holding a machete:

I'll just leave this here. Funko doesn't have the license for the movies... Disney has never had the license for the Movie titles... It's strictly the character.. Hence the reason why the ride is not associated with any of the movies...

Image

If you watch this video of the ride...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAsUYklWLug @ 4:30 this is the "Disney Ride Exclusive Pop"...

Also if you had ever seen the live show Indiana Jones™ and the Secret of the Stone Tiger Revealed!, Aladdin's Oasis, Adventureland, Disneyland®, Anaheim, California, 2008.05.26 15:27

He has the idol in his hand...

So In hindsight you will never have a Pop from the movies. Only the park. Unless they pay Spielberg the $ for the rights.

Lucasfilm owned the rights to the franchise, Disney has owned the rights ever since they bought Lucasfilm in 2012. Did you forget that Disney is making a new movie coming out July 2019?

Also from Variety this article dated December 6, 2013 http://variety.com/2013/film/news/disney-acquires-indiana-jones-rights-from-paramount-1200927216/

"Paramount keeps distribution rights to previous four films

The Walt Disney Studios and Paramount Pictures have reached a distribution and marketing agreement for the Indiana Jones franchise.

Under the arrangement, Disney gains distribution and marketing rights to future films, in addition to retaining the ownership rights it secured when it acquired Lucasfilm.

Paramount will continue to be responsible for distribution of the first four films in the franchise and will receive a financial participation on any future films that are produced and released."

Disney owns the franchise and distribution rights for future films, Paramount own distribution rights for original 4 films. Similar to how Disney owns distribution rights for all but the original Star Wars which remains at Fox, and how Disney owns distribution for all Marvel Studios films/TV properties that came out AFTER Iron Man 3, anything before then is still owned by Paramount, Though Disney distributed Avengers and Iron Man 3, Paramount still produced the movies and received a significant chunk of the box office. Based on the evidence I believe Disney owns the movies and the franchise as a whole, but Paramount retains distribution rights to the original 4 films. And I'd be willing to be to that when Indy 5 comes out we'll see a full line of Pops coming out (assuming they are still a thing in 2019)
