The clue made it clear they were probably just gonna be big mystery minis though. I too wish it was something more of an actual variant.

Dark variants made me think shadow bolts, or at least some sort of glow in the dark / blacklight action.. :?

So bummed, I was hoping they were Shadowbolts..I guess if they were meant to be it would say that on the box and it doesn't. Thanks for setting me straight.

I think we all are a little bummed they have so much potential with these SDCC and MLP fair ponies, personally I think Funko should repaint the ponies as their G1 counterparts such as....

Repaint Rainbow Dash as G1 Firefly
Repaint Sweetie Drops as G1 Bon Bon
Repaint Twilight (minus the wings) as G1 Twilight
Repaint Pinkie Pie as Surprise (add wings)
Repaint Fluttershy as Posey (minus the wings)
Repaint Big Mac as some G1 Big Brother Ponies

Maybe the boxes would be white with the same design to please the MLP collectors because honestly hasbro hasn't given them any vintage ponies at all, (but transformers they give all kinds of vintage) I feel like G1 repaints would be the perfect MLP fair exclusives!

Another good idea would have been to give us a unicorn Twilight Sparkle as the exclusive! I understand they just do repaints and variants, but why larger black minis........

Agreed. :/ We had some pretty darn fantastic ideas, too, for what they could be. :/

Mane-iac was definitely one of the few things I enjoyed about the Power Ponies episode, and a character I'd probably pay for. I'd like to see Funko's depiction of so many different MLPs its sort of maddening.

As for the SDCC exclusives, I'm a tad disappointed in that they're just basically large mystery minis... I would've liked something a bit more original, even if they just wanted to do a recolor of an existing vinyl. Quite a few things they could have done for them.

We could've had Misty Fly or shadowbolts or GITD or blacklight or metallic large ones (I would love a metallic rainbow dash, not gonna lie) and we get big mystery minis.. :/

A Hot Topic manager informed me that the crystal/glitter ponies may not be available on the website anymore. There were people ordering ponies in quantities from 12 to 60 in hopes of getting the crystal/glitter variants and then returning the regular production pieces. The stores then had to return those to the warehouse. That would mean more variants in the stores. Good news for people near a store, bad news for others.

Wonder if they have instituted this policy for this round of ponies.

Interesting. The site still says "1 in 24 will receive the sparkly clear chase figure variant."

People always trying to beat the system...they could always do like TRU and limit quantities..or a restocking fee like Amazon

They look fantastic! Except for Rarity's eyes, they look more like great. I would have preferred the iris/pupil further down, maybe. I suppose I should wait to pass judgment until I see her from the front.

Quick question, is there any confirmation if HT will have exclusives for the MLP Mystery Mini Series 2?

I'm trying to decide if I want to preorder a case now or get a case from HT like I did with the Disney Series 2.

Love them so much was shocked by the Discord since we never saw his proto, never had three at once, and a different mold than the mini! He looks even better! Super excited for all of these, lots ordered.

These are a millions times better than the SDCC ponies, Discord and Rarity especially. My only complaint is Darings name and the hair coming down on both sides.

All look good, but my fear is, that since Daring and Discord have a lot of paint applications and I've noticed paint applications, especially when there is a lot of them, are Funko's weakness with these figures and I don't want another mess like Spitfire on my hands.

Are you sure that Discords body parts aren't colored already when made and glued together? Then no paint would be needed besides the eyes.

Honestly I'm fine with that, I wouldn't buy them anyway, the Vinyl Collection is much better in my opinion.

Some of is are NOT fine with that and need the pop ponies in our lives! That is why Funko makes a little bit of everything. To please different types of collectors.

Michael, I am hoping to see them as I have not heard about them being scraped!
