It's not a Funko exclusive but I saw on Equestria Daily that there will be an SDCC Hasbro Pinkie Pie with different MLB team caps. Dodgers, Yankees, Red Sox, Cardinals, Cubs if I'm not mistaken.

My team are the Angels but I guess I'll try to get the Dodgers one just because it's Pinkie.

Technically it isn't Hasbro, but a different company that can use the license, like Funko.

I love how people got angry when it first popped up like...wow, people need to calm themselves. I thought the description was cute, it said the figures were made for dads and daughters to collect together. I'd probably try to snag one myself, but I'm not a huge baseball fan and the team I like didn't get one. If they had done NFL ones, though...oh man, I'd be all over that. lol

Meanwhile, Hasbro is taking all the time in the world to announce their MLP Fair/SDCC exclusive.

I'm with you on that one. However, the good thing about SDCC exclusives is that they can be easily found online during SDCC for okay prices, unlike chases. Do you think the CMC will come in a 3-pack? They are usually grouped together.

I'd be okay with no pony exclusive from Funko, too. Last year's was just so disappointing.

I do have a sneaking suspicion that one of the Rainbow Dash Hikari variants will be an SDCC exclusive, though.

I never got black Rainbow / Vinyl. Also never got metallic Rainbow. Just not a fan of repaints, I guess.

I kinda think the CMC will be a 3pack (like the Amazon POP glitter box).

But then again, would that mean that either a box would contain ALL glitter ponies, or ALL regular ponies? Would each pony have a 1 / 24 of being glitter? Could you get a box with, say, glitter Scootaloo and regular Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle?

Last years SDCC repaints were very disappointing probably my least favorite Funko ponies I own. I hope for some better ones this year, Colgate and Amethyst Star have the exact same hair/body that Lyra does those are the kinda repaints that I want! Also Spitfire could be repainted as different Wonderbolt ponies! Dr. Whooves repainted as different boy ponies! Theres a few options with repaints I hope they do but well see, probably be black variants or metallic. Anyways I bet one of the Hikari Dashs will be an exclusive as well I hope its not the rainbow gradient one I want that one easier obtainable... hopefully one of the gold ones, or maybe the glitter blue one?

I kept black and metallic Rainbow Dash because she's my favorite pony and I basically collect anything of her. I just sold off my SDCC exclusive black Spitfire and Vinyl Scratch, though. Also thinking of getting rid of my blue Discord. I'm also just not a big fan of repaints.

Not sure. Hopefully one of the glittery rainbow variants. Those were my favorites, so I just want to see them get made! lol

But in theory they will be harder to get since things at SDCC are crazy. I am hoping the rainbow gradients are Hot topic and gemini exclusives. this way they will be a little easier to obtain.

I hope so too- since I think we have a better shot at them through Hot Topic or Gemini.

I do think one of the Dash Hikari's will be a SDCC exclusive, but hopefully it's the gold one (my least favorite, lol

I guess, but usually it isn't too hard to get a hold of the exclusives after the con on the Internet. Unless they're changing how they're doing things this year?

Actually yeah, maybe it'll be better if it's the gold one. That was my least favorite as well.

I know it's incredibly unlikely, but I'd love to see one or all the main 6 get repainted as their G1 counter part for the SDCC exclusive I know Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy would require some alteration to their molds. Having a Funko Surprise and Firefly would be great.

That would be awesome, and I've seen quite a few people hoping that we'd get some of the older ponies, but I doubt Funko would do that. I've seen enough complaints from other collectors that the Funko figures aren't "real" ponies because of the molded hair (when in actuality NONE of the ponies are real, c'mon...) and I'm not sure having G1 ponies would be enough to persuade them to buy them, so the market for them would be incredibly small.

Still, a neat idea.

Maybe I'll try my hand at doing repaints of my own, or commissioning someone to do it for me.

Yeah, I know it's probably not going to happen. But is fun to dream. I'm repainting a mini Lyra to look like Fizzy. Since she is my favorite G1. Maybe one day I'll get around to doing the main 6 too.

I think I'm still mostly disappointed that Hasbro is being so hush hush about their exclusive. So I just wanted to get some pony news from someone.

In other news, I need to find another Pinkie Pie vinyl figure to get autographed this upcoming weekend. I have an extra Fluttershy, but I'm wondering if maybe I'll just get Fluttershy signed and that's it since it's the same voice actress, or maybe get something else Pinkie Pie related for her to sign. The Funko figures just seem best for autographs, though. I was hoping I'd have an easy time finding another Pinkie, but I can't seem to find her anywhere.

In season 2, Pinkie Pie was a chicken for Nightmare Night (their version of Halloween).

As someone who pre-paid for the MLP Fair/SDCC exclusive pony from Hasbro, I'll be very disappointed if that's the pony we're getting. I think the outfit is cute, but 1) it's ANOTHER Pinkie Pie that I don't need and 2) not worth $50, nope.

I hope Hasbro didn't go this route..I do not collect Hasbro but I liked last years exclusive Mane-iac...For $50 I personally want to be WOWed. Funko will get it right one year and release an exclusive 500 edition MLP vinyl.

I need to have that Pinkie Pie! I'll be lining up anyhow for the Force Unleashed Stormtrooper so I'll be heavily tempted to buy this one as well...I just hope that for $50 there are other ponies as well, especially if this is just brushable scale.

Thing to know about recent SDCC pony exclusives: They are Fashion Style sized. So you are getting a big pony for $50, so...no need for it to include others.

The Pinkie is so dumb for $50 and SDCC exclusive, if that's it huge fail, it has to be a joke that's the same Pinkie Pie FS I see hundreds of at target and TRU they are shelf warmers she has like tons of releases already in multiple sizes and several in that size already the exact same one, well except the outfit so you'd be paying $10 for the pony and $40 for the outfit lol

I sold off my fashion style collection when I got into Funko vinyl ponies, they aren't accurate and all in the same molds.

I was going to say the same thing. Along with being the pony that comes with EVERYTHING (I guess because she's pink and "girls love pink"), her FS toy is suuuuper common!

I'll seriously be upset if that's the pony I get when I pre-register on Friday night. At least give me another FS of Twilight as Star Swirl the Bearded, if we're going off of the SDCC exclusive cover for the IDW comic.

At least the exclusives before were unique. We never got another FS Derpy, we never got another FS DJ Pon-3, we won't be getting the Mane-iac in the mold she was in for SDCC last year, so why all of a sudden do they think it's okay to charge $50 for a common pony?

So now I'm back to kinda hoping Funko does something pony related for SDCC and that it isn't just a lazy repaint of an existing vinyl figure and/or Hasbro is just playing a cruel joke on us.

Well, sorry for not being an MLP fan until G4. Yes, I've seen the exclusives from before and I get that they were unique. They were very different and that's cool, but I was just saying that the G4 exclusives (sans this year) are unique because they didn't sell them on store shelves. They were only at the Fair and SDCC and on Hasbro's site for a little while. I think, by definition, that still makes them more unique than another Pinkie with a new outfit slapped on. ;-)

For $50, I want to be paying for a character that I can't easily find anywhere else.

Aaaaanyway...wave 8 will be announced today. Maybe we'll get some pony news from Funko!
