And the lines/crowds are crazy too. It's quite the feat to get your print and then finding a place to roll it up and protect it. I've either used poster tube or a large plastic sleeve.

It’s a pro move to get the poster tube or hard sleeve for it before getting to line. Anywhere you go ask and then prep for it

Re: Mondo at Cons - they don't roll prints
I would love to have the option to buy a Mondo-branded poster tube with print to make things easier and keep the print safe. It's just sooo hard trying to find a safe spot at the con to try and roll the print up.

This is such a good idea. I still wish they already came tightly rolled up in plastic but I know some collectors prefer to keep them flat :/

They should add a rolling price/tip when buying a poster
I’d pay it because yeah I get so antsy with posters at conventions
because yeah I get so antsy with posters at conventions
Or even sell poster tubes because I missed the freebie last year and was bummed

I would like if they offered tubes to buy that you could at least roll your own with. I forgot to bring my poster tube to get prints back home and had to buy one across the con floor at C2E2.

While it would be neat for Mondo (or any other print booth) would offer to tube purchased prints for you, it's probably a matter of space and logistics. Can you imagine how much room hundreds, possiby up to a thousand, tubes would take up? The booth staff would be using them as stools

I also had this hilarious to me mental image that the poster tubes could be build into the booth, and as the con went on we would just take down portions of the booth to free up the extra tubes. Then on Sunday the Funko/Mondo team wouldn't have as much to tear down XD

Yeah totally agree with this. I think it is a liability to roll them for the customer, unless the customer is okay with any issues that may occur with them handling. In all my years of the con, I've never seen them roll it for you.

It's too bad they don't have them already in toploaders. With the amount of people around I'd be p*** getting through the line and getting a poster and it getting damaged right away.

Toploaders would be awesome. SDCC is so tough to navigate without bumping into anyone/anything in the exhibit floor. Especially when people are taking laps during the "capped" time period.

I don't think I could ever put a premium Mondo poster into those free Fox tubes, thats just asking for disaster

I wouldn't mind that option. Having a batch of the available already in top loaders and just pay an extra fee. Also, wouldn't take too much space, so would be a win for everyone. But I don't know if they make top loaders 3 feet by 2 feet

Make sure the surface and your hands are clean/dry before starting. Roll tighter than needed (it will loosen once you put into tube). Dont let the nerves stress you because thats where a mess up will occur

What messes you up is rolling to fast. It's like getting an autograph on a pop and they push you along and the ink is wet

Thats what my last sentence was about, the nerves thing. Come prepared to the booth with a print tube (lid open) and you could always ask the booth worker if you can borrow some counter space to roll it up. In years prior Ive used the lunch/food area with all the tables to cleanly and calmly roll mine up. Done it plenty of times with no issues, just be careful in the short time you have the print flat

As far as I know, they never did roll ups. That’s why you prepare. But what really scares me is how they handle the prints. Last year I wanted to get my own print since the people handling it doesn’t know how to handle it.

It just... I know this forum has talked about Mondo print quality since the acquisition, and Funko not understanding the customer base, but this stark difference in care for the prints when selling them really does speak volumes. They wanted to charge $80 for an exclusive spider man print that I then have to run to a safe place and try to roll on a con floor. Thanks but no thanks.
I don't think I'm ever buying prints from them at a Con again. Hopefully they start having some exclusive LPs for Cons? I'm lucky that I'm not into the figures as much.
I had that same issue last year. I believe they do that so they keep the line moving but would be great if they rolled the posters cause it's scary walking around with a unrolled poster.

They had several exclusive vinyl pressings last year. I grabbed quite a few. Most were limited to 500 copies and were really cool looking pressings.

The dance I danced trying to get from the booth just to the first exit from the main hall. It definitely is an anxiety-filled adventure, that walk.

The vinyls last years were simply gorgeous! The “Up” soundtrack and Ted Lasso 7in scarf from SDCC were my personal favs. The cover art was beautiful on all of the Disney LPs last year. I can’t wait to see if they have new ones this year. I also hope Mondo brings more enamel pins. I missed them last year.

But ya, I can definitely understand the anguish of buying an expensive print just to have it handed to you without protection. I think that I made this mistake once. And after that I bring my own tube to roll it there at their table. That way I can inspect the print when they hand it to me, and by me rolling it myself I know it will be done right.
I agree with this. I think I'd rather trust myself if I'm buying and I'd rather pass that responsibility to the consumer if I'm selling so that they can decide how best to protect their purchase.

I don't trust myself with rolling half the time. It was nice the time I went to SDCC and they had some company handing out poster tubes at opening, definitely helped.
